I haven't spent much time there at all. The skyshard/lorebook/public dungeon run is still ongoing on just my 1st arcanist. Then it'll be time for Arcanist #2, then a bunch of other characters that need to go through and collect a backlog of skyshards and what not.

But I guess since we're not getting any new overland content until next years chapter I'll have plenty of time to get around to it.

I only spent a little while there - just enough to pick up antiquities and wayshrines. I won't do any quests etc until the crowds are gone.

I had a lot of fun doing the delve and public dungeon quests and stuff. The zones are so beautiful even though the Telvanni area could use more unique mushrooms. I also got a couple of the new furnishing recipes.

I spent the time leveling my arcanist to 50 and running dungeons for skill points to get him trial ready. Overall good except for the maddening deluge of fake tanks in normal dungeons over the weekend at levels I've not seen in a long time.

Fun. I'm taking it slow and didn't spend a lot of time there, but I ran into Naryu and that's always a great time.

Pretty good, I got a nice shirt for killing all the world bosses. Unexpected, since usually those achievements don't give you anything.

On a new arcanist, I've been going through the story, side quests, dailies, delves, dungeons as they come along, not going out of my way to leave Necrom for more XP unless the story takes me elsewhere.
Now level 30 just leveling naturally, along with some XP scrolls I had stockpiled, picking up whatever gear drops.
I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I'm using destruction staffs and find the firing faster and more responsive than other classes I've played.
    Lots of fun, really :)
I've read the complaints about the bright lights, but I haven't been bothered by it since I zoom out all the way, so my character doesn't take up all that much of the screen.

I never thought about it. Some people might be zooming closer in characters. I have more sympathy now for them

I've been enjoying leveling my new Argonian Arcanist as well as doing dailies to level companions; already have Sharp and Azandar up to "Friendly" level and just completed their continued companion quests. Funny, I never did any of these for the other companions, but due to them gaining additional XP % with each rapport level, and ZOS reducing the amount of rapport needed to reach higher levels, I decided it was worth it for that XP gain factor alone.

Just logged in, downloaded patch. Created new Arcanist toon, started quests. Tracing Shadows (?) bugged; stopped playing.

I'll get back in a couple days assuming it's been patched.

Yeah, world bosses take ages already because virtually nobody is there. The only places where I saw a couple of players were the ones where the companion quests begin. The public dungeons seem completely deserted already, too. This makes the group challenges quite some challenges. :(

Nothing to keep people there. No new world event nor unquie rewards. We needed new food recipe or alchemy regent

I see green 9/10 in battlegrounds though and dungeons not mention dolmens

Ok, i thought it was just me. I was getting really weirded out about how deserted everything felt. I don’t remember waiting as long as I have in previous chapters to get people for wb fights this early in the chapter before.
I did not put it together with the lack of noteworthy drops or a lack of “true” world events. Although even in Blackwood it felt like there was more people.

The new class is extremely fun, and blackwood has fastest crafting writ section. Zone looks very similar to vanderfall just brighter...hence less exploring at least that one aproc is busier

I didn't see any new rewards for public dungeons?

There's a lot of nice antiquities that take me elsewhere.

The trial lacks urns and sets seems toooo familiar that they miss the mark

Didn't see any impressive Momentos that you can use on other people

Aren't blackwood portals solo content. This isn't good way to bring people in while lacking map markers like dolmens, dragons.

The world bosses could be fun but I now hate spamming zone to find people when a tool for it should exist

    Tldr

    No group content like dolmens
No new crafting material to collect
    Lack of hoarding in trials
Lack of inspiring gear choices...it looks to similar to last year
No crafting material like in nhof in trial
No special farming areas found yet like rift kitties or eastmarch wood

Examples of why to cost zones

    Easiest fishing wrogather
Arteum easy way to level antiquities and fishing rewards
Dolmen like events for xp and housing
Alchemy regents like in summerset, high isle, elseweyr

    Shadowfen tree that spawns torchbugs

Areas like spawn certain resources in small spots like bal fol

    Loot bot farming for rewards

Areas that look nice to start s duel

Areas to kill people like wayrest

Areas to break into houses like Audrion

    Overall,

I am just complaining a lack of group material and crafting, maybe there's some magic to zone and I have just been busy leveling

One thing to keep in mind is that everyone is spread out across two zones, and Apocrypha feels like the larger zone. On top of that, a lot of people are leveling up new Arcanists and they aren't going to do that solely in Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha.

I have always gone into new zones during the first week for the purpose of doing the world bosses. This is because that is when the achievement hunters are out and willing to do all of the activities where multiple people make it easy. I have waited in the past and found that it is necessary to solo world bosses or wait a long time for one or two others to show up.

I can't say how launch population compares to Blackwood, but I do remember that interest in the Atoll of Immolation world event dried up real quick.

The new class is fun, but I guess there is no direct reason, outside of RP, to level them in Necrom.

There is a non combat pet collectible in the public dungeons, but the sheer amount of drops for it seems so excessive that it does not feel worth acquiring.

Have not done the new trial yet. Nor do I really feel any desire to do it.

The new mythics are fine, not great, not awful, just meh. If I get them, I get them, but I am not perusing them.

The new companion quests are far too long. Instead of trying to unlock them on all of my characters, I am doing them selectively on far fewer characters.

Blackwood portals were community based, but solo accessible. Bastion nymics are tedious to get a group for, then tedious to do. I am happily avoiding them, and from what I can gather from our guild discord remarks, I am not alone.

Still I assumed there would be at least some crowds for wb fights, simply to aquire new furniture recipes. But I have not seen any drop yet. Are new furniture recipes even dropping from the dailies?

Maybe everything feels like it takes too long to do, so people are just giving up doing them?

My thought is after premade group finder is in game then this problem should be better. Do people can start a queue for world bosses and others can follow easier.

@ZOS_Kevin if not 👀 pass this idea along

There's new recipes and paintings just most are looted from what I understood

Blackwood portals need a marker then. I am going into br honest. I am more likely to stay in zone if I see action on an icon happening

I think it's still lacking in crafting materials though like new food or alchemy.

I did consider questing to level up but ai for quests are just boring fights. Hence I went to dungeons and backgrounds

New trial is fun but next time add more then 2 backpacks and 1 wardrobe 🥲

New set for healers is bad like in what world do eso healers under heal unless they are dps?

I didn't feel like overland sets touched existing play styles niches but tried to build new ones, and seems unreliable.

It's definitely better than blackwood and high isle just no summerset nor elseweyr

My biggest complaint is not seeing yet any new creatures I wish I had as mount or pet and lack of shrooms growing by big shrooms. It would be nice if zone had easier shroom farming

I think first area needs more polish but I do like this chapter a lot. I found a lot of things interest me so will be exploring more this week as just finished leveling first arcantist.

Funny, the first few days after launch there were TONS of people in Apocrypha- perhaps doing what I was doing- using BeamMeUp to get the wayshrines on all characters. But yesterday I needed to pop over to do the daily delve for Azandar, and only TWO people out of all five guilds I belong to, were in Apocrypha. Talk about a steep drop.

Granted, there were a lot more in the Telvanni Peninsula, but the sharp drop of those in Apocrypha was a bit scary. Granted, it was mid-morning on a Monday, but still.

Had some fun levelling my newly created orcanist and trying out the new skills

Also wanted to say "thanks" again for the new filetting option at fireplaces. Really helps!

Didn't enter the new zone yet tho. I prefer to wait till the dust of the biggest crowd has settled, so I can enjoy the story and atmosphere there in relative peace.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

The Bastion Nymics ruin the whole map experience a bit for me.

In other expansions I usually do the 'world event' daily and while passing usually pick a few world bosses along the way. Usually there are always people there.

But because the Nymics are such a tedious slog and not a real world event, less people are doing it. And the ones doing it are in a separate instance. This all makes the world feel empty and even the world bosses are usually deserted as well.

I really hope they return to classic world events. They are the most fun and work the best for random people to organically play together. They are also not overly long thanks to this.

You are not the only one. Multiple people have said that in chat. Map is deserted just after a week. Never seen such a low interest in new expansion before. I have to beg guildies for help with WB dailies. Some of the WB are really hard for example the nightmare den. Most of the times need a full party which is impossible in zone chat even during prime time.
