Starting with the Necrom release, I have
(2) specific problems with sound:
(1) When pulling daily writ quests from the board, the sound effect is extremely low volume and "muffled", almost inaudible.
(2) Throughout the Necrom Story Line quest, Hermaeus Mora's voice is extremely low volume, muffled, and impossible to understand.
No other problems.
ALL OTHER SOUNDS ARE FINE. Other NPC voices (including those in Necrom Story Line), crafting sounds, footsteps, mount sounds, combat sounds, monster sounds, annoying nirnroot sounds, etc., are all NORMAL volume and easily understood, just as before the Necrom release.
I searched the forum and found one other report about the quest board sound being near silent since Necrom release, so at least that part isn't just me (see the last post before old thread was closed):

Things I have tried:
- Rebooted. No difference.
- Did a "Repair" from launcher, which ran to 100% completion. No difference.
- Updated my sound drivers. Made no difference.
- Tried various changes to sound settings (i.e., removing all equalization, effects, etc.). Those (2) specific sounds are still extremely low volume and muffled.
- Ran the "Game Consultant". Reviewed the output, everything looked fine.
