Put plainly arcanist sucks.

I asked repeatedly in a dungeon to keep that green swirly crap off of me and they go out of their way to do it more. I literally ran away from the arcanist and they followed me. I literally can't play this game with green swirly crap all around me. What are my options? Report the player? NOt play with any arcanists in the group? Kick every arcanist i find just to be sure. Surely can't do another random if people won't listen.

THIS is truly awful.

I think the behaviour you experienced will tone down after the first hype went by. Targeting you with skills is rude, here I agree. Using this skills as intended isn't.

Arcanist will stay tho, so you'll have to find a way to live with it. I have the same problem with flappysorcs for example and simply exclude them from any of my groups.

I think anyone who does a thing to you after you tell them no once is acting like a *** sociopath if they continue to do it. After i've told them 3 times or more there's no excuse. If i knew how to discretely sell my account, i think i would.

If ZOS is offended by this thread or this post they can start by deleting my forum account. I had enough of this nonsense.

Was the Arcanist in question a healer (as that would explain the chasing unless it was to troll you)? I think the chakram shield or whatever's fx is annoying but I don't think it's fair to expect people to not use their abilities.

I didn't excuse their actions against you, but agreed with you regarding the matter of following and targeting you on purpose without need to do so to clear the dungeon.

But if you feel offended by skills cast in combat, then the problem is on your end, not theirs.

Asking players to not use skills never works. And I understand it.

There are easy ways to solve it. Just leave when there's one arcanist in the group. That's what I'll do until we get a way to disable all those intrusive green effects, and we don't even need to explain. It's clean and easy.

A lot of the Arcanist stuff is group, it is not as though they can choose to exclude you without crippling themselves, or maybe you would prefer they LA through the whole dungeon.

Agreed, that would be my approach as well.

They are already damned annoying when doing dolmens or world bosses, I can imagine how horrible running a dungeon must be when arcanists are part of the group. At least dolmens and world bosses are quickly done and I don't have to suffer their effects for long.

That Archanist was probably a healer, and the heals/shields hit multiple people.

It's the healers job to heal. Unless you were outside the pretty sizable range of the skills you were going to get hit with the skill, and as someone else said, it's entirely unreasonable to ask people not to use their skills in a dungeon.

If it bothers you so much, you need to be the one to leave, period.

Does the color and all that make you sick or give you headaches like some others say? Or do you just not like the animations?

I get the annoyance, but you are also asking them to just not play their class or use their abilities… if the brightness and color and whatever else affects you in a negative way that sucks, seems ZOS is working on it but if you just hate the class and/or it’s animations that’s more on you.

I had someone do this to me yesterday while I was rp walk questing around one of the towns. They stopped after a minute after I sat pretending to be afk thankfully.

A week ago a warden was spamming abilities and heal orb on a dye station with me and a bunch of other people.

I do think a lot of arcanist skills need to be toned down in different ways but I agree with others that the number of arcanists around will tone down in the coming months (probably even weeks actually), so there's that.

In dungeons/trials, yes it's unreasonable to ask a player to stop using his skills.

However, we all know how much some players love to spam their skills in towns (particularly in crafting areas) to show them off. And no, this doesn't apply just to arcanists but also templars, dragon knights and wardens.
It gets seriously annoying to be constantly affected by the skills of players you're not even grouped with.

It's really not a good idea to pick arcanist as a healer, because you'll blind players while trying to heal them and they'll die anyway. The best way for an arcanist healer to help a group, is just by staying still or dead and don't use any skill.

Sounds to me like they are pretty strong healers, maybe you and your team just need to get to the other side of the learning curve.

Forum members will find anything and everything to gripe about if they believe they are not the main character. Play a solo game if you hate having your immersion ruined or do the group content with friends you can control. This is silly.

So let me get this straight, an arcanist used a skill, but you didn't find it pretty, so you told them to never use that skill, but they did, because they were playing the game.

I'd of probably chased you too, because I couldn't for the life of me think you are being serious.

Now, saying that, if there is a medical reason why you cannot see green, there are, or should be, color changing settings.
