They exist in other places too, sometimes you find missing doors into the checkered zone, those are fun.

Will we end up in the multiverse if we enter there?

If you find a hole, climb in it and see what happens. Death, getting un-/stuckably stuck or crash and crashing client every time when trying to log in that character is a possibility. Exiting , isn't it!
Wriggling oneself out of game map to explore unintended places is a gaming subgenre itself. I have only done a little of it in ESO but I've done it a lot before in other games it's definitely fun.

Dunno about 76 but generally the line is between exploring and exploiting. (Of course its always a risk.)
If in doubt, do it in test server.

Don't tell them they'll close the doors, I love the checkered zone.

I always wonder why some players use the option to display map coordinates constantly on the minimap but in that case it is useful :)

You'll end up in an oddly modern looking room. At the other end of the room, there is an oddly dressed human sitting on a chair staring at a rectangular glowing object. You stealthily approach, only to find to your horror and utter confusion that the rectangular object appears to contain a picture of the part of Tamriel you just left.

Must be a new thing, I had various camps inside/below collisions for years...

Either way I have been 'out of bounds' in ESO before, just for the sheer fun of it and nothing has come out of it. There are quite a few areas where that you can do that, and in some of them there are bits and pieces of curious 'environmental storytelling' - even if they only tell the story of what the devs were up to at the time.

Furthermore on Blackwood release there was an interior cell missing an entire wall and its collision and people were happily roaming around out of bounds and taking screenshots, AFAIK no one from ZOS took umbrage to it.

phew, I thought the one at the crafting area in Vulkhel Guard had come back...
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.
