So with companion changes will they level up faster?

As you get their Rapport up each rank gives them 5% more experience, going down below Cordial will not reduce their exp. Rapport also goes up faster as they require less per rank. I need to keep Bastian on the worse terms with me to avoid his pots from being permanent.
