Not touching Necrom for about a month, maybe more. I'm not into insanity with a bajillion characters in the new areas.

It'll still be there in a month or so.

Not entered the new area yet, but I already created an arcanist and played around a bit with her.

And I've to admit: Didn't imagine that killing off stuff with a big green beam would be THAT much fun

Didn't expect much tho: Just unlocked the skill to try it out and maybe rant about it before moving on.
Well, I ended up in some public dungeons I hadn't visited in ages while constantly beaming and melting things.
Yeah, that's stupid and childish, I know. But I didn't have that much fun in overland for literally years.

Then there is /sittingscholar (I'm quite into different sitting animations in general) while my tentacled little eyeball read occassionally in his own next to me.

    Definitely had a blast today.

    Good job zos 👍😻

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Absolutely loving playing the new class and the new area.
Shame ZoS spoils it by leaving reported bugs in there and takes a month worth of PVP (including the PVP event) rewards away from us. For goodness sake we have just paid you a heap of real money! At least deliver a decent quality product and don’t take earned rewards away from us!

I got the new craftable set tables safely in the crafting house first thing, and set about working on the maps wow theres alot to do 😆. Plus new requirements for the hero achieve you need to get all the new mythics so thats kind of a downer, and wont be happening for well rng could make it a day or a year!😆 And i swore off grinding mythic leads since the dreadful moras whispers fiasco, gonna do as much as i can and then ill go back to what i usually do daily and do without the achieve furnishings for now.

Amazingly, I was able to get a Day 1 vet clear of Sanity's Edge in a PUG run! And the trial is simply gorgeous. I wish the sets were better because it's a fun trial to run although the portal puzzle bit is confusing and the ad pulls are ridiculous (I'm sure as tanks get more used to where to put things that will get easier). We were lucky in that we had high end dps and also had a tank who knew what he was doing (he was able to explain the whole trial really well). Most Day 1 PUG runs are disasters but you kinda know that going in and I think a lot of us only really expected to see what the trial was like rather than clear.

I haven't gotten to explore apocrypha just yet but have I did grab Sharp and complete his quest. So far, it's been a lot of fun.

i did almost all of the exploring yesterday and started working my way through the zone quests in telvanni penninsula, still havent finished the first main quest yet lol

i only just found sharp as night late yesterday and havent had time to finish his quest yet, but im already dreading the experience that im going to have to run this nonsense 10 more times (9 for the current characters +1 when i make an arcanist) (and no im still very very very unhappy that this is even a mandatory thing to use the companion even after unlock)
    plays PC/NA
    handle @Necrotech_Master
    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

I created an Arcanist yesterday and hit 50 today :) Now I am enjoying her in Cyrodiil and IC. It was a grind to level up but with XP scrolls and leveling gear in lv 4, 10, 20, 30 and 40 it was not too hard.

The new zones I only did some delves and unlocked the shrines this far

I'm still partly through the Blackwood main story, so I'm about 1.5 chapters away from doing Necrom. I may visit it to explore a bit and collect skyshards, though. I hope the upcoming "endless dungeon" is feasible to solo as ZOS claimed, because the initial feedback for the Bastion Nymic "world" events is that they're too difficult, so that's a part of Necrom I'll probably end up never doing.

I created 5 pieces of Heartland conquer and New Moons Acolyte all in purple and training as well as purple glyphs.. one of the sets for weapons, necklace, and two body pieces, the other the remaining 5 armor pieces. Heartland conquer boost weapon traits including training trait.

I alternated between doing the main prophet quest line, and an hour of Alikir Dolmens we also had a guild event Monday evening where we did most of the public dungeons group events for skill points. I also used some crowns I had from monthly rewards to buy the sky shards in IC and Cyrodiil.

Thanks for the tips/info. I may have to try that when I make my arcanist. Right now, I'm still trying to decide between dark elf and khajiit. My main is a khajiit but I love dark elves too and right now I think they're slightly better. Still, I'm kinda attached to my kitties.

The environment design is amazing as always. I'm actually enjoying the lower Telvanni peninsula area more than I thought--it looks more distinct from Vvardenfell than I was expecting, so that's nice. I want to see even more huge and colorful mushrooms if/when the upper part of the peninsula comes out.

Necrom the city is beautiful and actually feels relatively deep and dynamic like a realistic city, like Hew's Bane.

I want to do the companion content first so I'll be busy with that for awhile other than the delve/WB dailies. I'm looking forward to the quests.

Give it few more days so everyone can level up their arcanist. Then try some group content. It's already disgusting. Went to below 50 BG, all the green beams and circles spinning ruin the game for me. Same in dungeons. I cant tank no more and look at that stuff it gives me headache. I cant even imagine trials with arcanists. Zos really dropped the ball with this.

Also the new gear, overland, trial or crafted its all trash.

The new trial looks nice but its too easy. Craglorn pugs clearing vet on day one. First trifecta has also been done on day one.

    It's the most meh chapter.

Knowing that this will pretty much be it for story content until next year, I'm taking it very slowly. I'm exploring every nook and cranny and mixing my time in the Necrom zones with time in other zones.

Because of that, I've done very little so far. Picked up the main quest and a couple of sides, picked up one companion quest, and I found a few antiquities leads (by exploring). Haven't dug them up yet because I'm not galloping across the zone. I'll get there when I get there (I'm keeping my eye on how much time is remaining to scry and won't let any expire).

I was going to create an arcanist, but I've decided to wait until the class settles down. ZOS will, of course, tweak (or maybe drastically change) the skills in the next patch or two. And hopefully they'll also tone down the green triangles and other over-the-top visuals. So maybe in the fall I'll try one.

So far I'm enjoying the new zone. As usual the art is great, and I like the "city of the dead" vibe in Necrom itself.

I haven't explored the zones carefully yet. Just popped in quickly to grab Azandar and do his quests. He's alright but boy does he like complaining 😂 It'll be some time till I properly explore the zone, but it looks nice from the little I've seen. I've only just started the prologue quest because I needed to wait to go through it with am Arcanist.

I did create an Arcanist though and power levelled him to 50 the same day. I have to say I'm REALLY impressed! I already knew I'll probably like it from what I've seen on trailers, but playing through exceeds my expectations! Really well done ZOS! I like the design, the skills, the sounds, the effects, and most of all the new playstyle. I'm not a top player nor am I trying to be so, I parse about 65k tops on the raid dummy and I always parse with the same gear I wear for content (no DW because I always play content ranged). But the Arcanist makes life a lot easier and combat a lot smoother even if it didn't increase my dps. Being able to catch a breath and think about the next move during the 4 seconds beam is also really appreciated! I really hope the class stays like that. I'm absolutely in love with it!

I know some people reported having issues with how bright the skills are, and I hope a solution is found for them so they can enjoy the class as much as I do.

I think the first boss is considered the most difficult because there's just a lot going on. You have a boss and a charging lizard er wamasu and you have to kill the lizard (maybe both but I don't remember precisely) multiple times. At one point archers that can one shot you like in maelstrom will appear and at another point they become invulnerable *but* little portals will appear on the ground and one dps can step on it and kill 1 archer.

That trial is all about the ad pulls so you need your tanks pulling things like the disruptors away although on the last ad pull we had to focus the guy that was conjuring ads (I don't remember what it's called). There's a mini boss that randomly spawns during ad pulls and that can cause a lot of pain depending on where it shows up - we had to separate it out from one pull that was wiping us with it there.

The second boss is kinda complicated but not hard. That one has a portal phase where a few in the group will get a symbol on above them and they have to go to the portal that matches the symbol. If you don't make it you will die. Once down stairs you have to watch a sequence and then hit the things in the correct order (you can watch more than once) but only one person needs to perform the sequence because you could screw it up if more than one is trying to do it and hits the wrong symbol. Ads and AOE spawn but if you are totally lost it usually doesn't matter because other groups will have been sent to their own portals doing the same thing. Eventually, you'll be able to head to another portal to help out a group if they get stuck on the sequence.

There is a metric TON of AOE in this trial so you need good healers. In all seriousness the AOE is just nuts. Even with a good healer I slapped a self heal on.

The final boss.... there will be a maze that spawns and 3-4 people go in. It's one tank and either 2 or 3 dps (don't remember which) but that group will run a maze to get to a portal and go down. Tank goes first so the dps don't get one-shot. The remaining group will be on the side but can parse on the topside boss as soon as the maze goes away.

The final boss will split into 3 in its final phase. And you'll have to kill each version.

This trial is not a dps race so you don't need to worry about that. You can take your time. Even the portals you can take your time as long as you can survive the ads/aoe down there.

I didn't plan to create an arcanist but didn't want to go through the Necrom story with a L50 character, so I thought I'd give it a try
Playing a magicka staff arcanist with light armor that I pick up
So far I'm using her only in Necrom going through the story line, letting her level naturally as the story progresses
I am using CP on her (can't resist), but it seems to me this is the most powerful and easy-to-play low-level character I've ever created (out of 33 others).
Almost right off the bat you can choose three skills that give you:
    1. A spammable that generates the three needed crux in just a few hits
    2. A killer beam that procs off that crux that also shields you while you're melting everything with it
    3. A strong self-heal
I've never seen so much damage and self-healing that's so intuitive to play on a new character before.
I can't speak to how useful the arcanist will be on high levels, but I think ZOS is on target with new players with this class

So sometimes with ad pulls a lot of people die. Chain rez is basically you get rez'd and rez the person next to you and that person rez's someone else (like everyone is a link in a chain). It's just making sure everyone rez's instead of relying on one person to do it all.

Given the expansion I do have a few thoughts:

    - Will the Q4 "Endless" dungeon be related to Vearmina in anyway? will the dungeon effectively be taking place in a dream? it was stated you could encounter "previous" bosses you had fought in said dungeon so it would make sense.

    - If ZOS is returning to the old formula of a series of interconnected chapters like Morrowind to Summerset does that mean next years chapter will also be a direct sequel to the events of Necrom, I do not want to reveal any spoilers but how would it not involve Hermaeus Mora again given the circumstances of Necrom?

    - Going off of that, if it is interconnected where would it be taking place? are we going to get the northern Telvanni Peninsula next? I doubt players would enjoy yet a third round of Dunmer content, could a place like Hammerfell involve a Daedric Prince like Peryite in anyway?
