I look away from my screen when my Arcanist has Crux

It really is a shame how the Crux has to orbit the player character, it's very distracting. I do wish they were either slower or that they just hovered in place around the character rather than continuously going in and out of view.

It makes me wish they have a timer and disappeared. Currently I'm just getting rid of them whenever I have them, even if I have to waste a skill. I think this brings my enjoyment of the game down and I'm feeling a bit of buyer's remorse due to this.

This especially bothers me. Why are they permanently floating around the character, like, permanently? At the very least, why can't I shift click them in the character screen to remove them like removing a sorc pet?

I was running dolmens this morning and there were obviously quite a few doing the same to level their shiny new arcanists (I wasn't doing it for that reason). I thought players looked silly with green stuff orbiting them. I think it would be much better if there was some type of crux meter on screen that only the player (the one playing the arcanist) could see.

Admittedly I'm not too well-versed in the Arcanist class, but is there a reason the triangles show outside combat? I can't even take screenshots from first person like I used to because there are green triangles permanently blocking part of my screen, and they're so annoying when running around in dark areas since they keep dragging my eyes to them as they're so bright. It'd be so much better if, when out of combat, they didn't show or were only very faint and only got to full brightness when fighting.

Alternatively, in first person, it'd be incredible if they showed as three tiny triangles at the bottom of the screen and they'd just light up if you had one, two, or all three, and that way they wouldn't block one third of the screen.

I got such a headache from other people's persistently rotating green doritos in town today that I ended up logging off and later playing something else instead. I'm really hoping that there will be a toggle to hide them in future, can't see myself playing much as long as they're everywhere.

It is kind of the flag ship feature for this release to be fair. I know there are new zones, companions etc. but look at any marketing material and Arcanist is front and centre.

Yeah, otherwise you'd only be getting the ability to stack fillet fish, do companion quests faster, and know if someone is hitting an npc at a keep... It's not a shining example of game improvement without the class.

I'm guessing many of us will also be unable to play next to our friends doing these animations :(

Totally immersion-breaking, and that's just the main objection for those without medical reactions to these visual effects.

It reminded me when I first saw them today of the floating coloured balls that used to circle players whenever I went to cities, they seemed to have disappeared a good while back. Were they PvP skills or what, why were they removed, and who then thought it a good idea to bring them back only bigger and brighter?

After a short test on the PTS I determined not to make an arcanist for just that reason. (To me it felt like motion sickness.)

So I haven't bothered buying the expansion.

Same here. I tried it on PTS, couldn't play an arcanist for longer than 10 minutes before getting motion sickness.

I didn't expect that much people would experience physical complaints caused by the effects of the new class. But if that is indeed reality, something has to be done about it asap. I hope the affected people find a way to play the game till this is sorted out and will renounce the usage of my arcanist in group content if I'm asked to do so.

I'm personally fine with the arcanist's effects, although I normally react rather sensitive to similar visuals. Countless times I already got headache by constant flapping twilights around me.

That said, due to the current situation it is time for a general solution according health-wise harmful, immersion breaking and otherwise undesired visual effects produced by other players.

A solution which only tones down or deactivates the arcanists effects while the other problematic visuals (like twilight and some mounts/pets) stay unadressed is definitely not a satisfying one.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

I've not been in game since the new content dropped but now am apprehensive about creating an Arcanist. I know I will level at least one but that might be the end of it. The sets that had the three rotating balls would give me slight motion sickness so not looking forward to an Arcanist if I get the same effect.

This was my experience of the pts as well. I don't normally suffer from motion type sickness playing ESO but I struggled with it while testing out the arcanist. Just terrible nausea and headaches. I had a really unpleasant time with it.

Joining a dolmen today I couldn't concentrate on what was going on at all because of all the players with their spinning triangles. It was just a mass of bright green spinning lights. I do have a neurological illness but it's never been triggered by the game in this way before now. I suspect it's the brightness and the spinning.

It's really weird. I have massive vertigo issues - but the crux rotation simply doesn't affect me. Nor do the "floating balls" from various armor sets.

I'm sorry for all of you affected. I'm just glad that for some reason I'm immune.

I'm making a post to specifically put forth that I like the class as it has been presented.

The colour aligns with Hermaeus Mora, the Runes; floating and pulsing are consistent with theme, and quite frankly a class released this late in cycle is going to reflect some new tech improvements that ones from launch may not have been able.

If you were to ask for a visual toggle, I would be on board.

If you are going to ask for a change the the classes visuals, then I am going to oppose you every step of the way and be a voice to counter yours.

Fate carver is only an issue because it's a long channel and people love to spam it in crowds, it could definitely be suppressed a bit more from other's point of view (outside of pvp)

the crux are a very big issue though. Motion sickness for some, a chance of a stroke for others (and generally things like this are how people lean the hard way that they suffer from these issues) and an in general incredible annoyance to others (especially so if you try to play in first person, my god it's so bad)

I love the classes visuals and theme overall, it's why i just spent the entire day i game, but it does have some issues

Almost every game released currently uses accessibility toggles.

That too would be better for the health and safety of their own employees, who when testing and working with this, would have had similar reactions.

-it's going to block lots of us from purchasing the content
-it's going to make us avoid content with the community
-it's going to stop us watching and supporting streamers
-while friends are having fun with new content, people will play other things

Accessibility checklists should be part of the development content process, not pointed out by players post-release.

      Toggle < workable solution

Of course, it's true that the flapping Twilights are a problem too, but at least we can send them away (which I do as soon as I don't need them anymore, because they annoy me too). The main problem is that you can't turn off the circling crux triangles at the moment. The first thing I did yesterday was desperately try to get rid of them, but that didn't work and then I changed the char, because that can't be endured for 10 minutes in a 1st person perspective.

I tend to have issues with motion sickness / screen sickness with some game effects, but had no issues with arcanist triangles so far. I had more trouble seeing if they were on since everything was so green with many arcanists around, but there's an addon for that so it should help. I found the beam more annoying because you have to view the character from behind and not from above, but I guess it's a matter of getting used to it.

But it general, I didn't experience nausea because of the effects, at least one that I noticed and connected to it. Maybe it's because the effects are similar enough to some in cyro I have gotten used to over time (templar area heal, siege shield etc bright ones - they used to be a problem for me in the past) and they do not pulse or otherwise move constantly very much.
