Hard to say. I'm planning to be up at 5 am US MT, and hope I've got enough bonus free time (3 hours) to get most of it - regular paid time starts at 8am, and it's satellite, which can be fast but usually isn't. Fast is 6-8 MB a second - very rare. Normal is 2-3 MB a second.

And I have no idea how big a download we're looking at either. Seems like the last chapter was nearly 4 GB maybe.

As with every content update I'd expect we'll see the patch notes on their regular channels like twitter and discord eventually. At that time you can usually start the download.

As for an exact time, I doubt anyone can tell you in advance. Things can go wrong during updates like this and maintenance can be extended. This can also affect the time you can start downloading.

Just keep an eye on their announcements =]

Leave the launcher open overnight. Usually the patch is done physically downloading several hours before the server actually opens.

I'd love to - but my previous experience with trying that wasn't very good. The sat seems to expect input (yes, I run the connection all day every day - but I'm DOING things, like, y'know, typing, reading forum posts, ordering from wherever etc) and when I have left it open with the only thing happening a download, it's stopped the download and disconnected with an error message.

Wish I could do that for sure....

I'm not too fussed about downloading and checking it as soon as the download is available, which is good, because in my timezone (GMT+10, Melbourne, Australia), the maintenance starts at 4pm and ends at 10pm and it's a weekday. So I won't be downloading the update tonight.

I never download/install on day of arrival.
I let things go wild and wait some days until it's stable (bugs and troubles fixed). Until then, most players have already downloaded and it then allows for a smooth - almost trouble free - and usually more rapid installation. :)
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

Also, his bandwidth is irrelevant if the uploading server is delivering at a snail pace.

Had no issue downloading over 100mbps line, was constantly getting 10-11MB/s. This was in the UK.

But the overall download is about 5.2GB, there's 3 downloads and the main one is 4.5GB.

If u got 10/11MBs u did download with 80 to 88Mbits speed. My self got 25 to 35MBs with a 650Mbit connection so was caped from zos and i live in Norway :D
Still a grudge, only to see false what u want and nothing less.

I have slow internet in a rural area. I left my launcher open before work and with any luck by the time I get home tonight I'll be able to play..... assuming the servers aren't on fire.

Necrom is roughly 5 GBs in size and it depends on your internet speed how long it will take. For those that don't know, it is ready to download. When the servers come back on allowing players to play Necrom is any ones' guess. They posted 8am EST but that is just an estimated guess. ESO is known for major issues on launch date of a new chapter which can put the new content into extended maintenance for hours after the given time and I probably would not go in there as soon as it drops as you will most likely get a wait queue as everyone is trying to get in.

My update always fails and I have to repair the game. I've done several wipes and re-installations without success so now I'm resigned to always repairing this game.

I have Gigabit fiber but the download speed never goes higher than 10 MB/s. Been downloading for close to two hours now, hopefully almost done.

I wasn't paying attention to exactly how long it took but it didn't seem much longer than a normal update.

I think they've previously 'pre-loaded' some stuff by including it in earlier updates so there's less to download on the day and it's possible they did it today as well.

I was also able to log in without any problems, but haven't tried doing more than that yet.

It only took 35 minutes total for me - actually got 8 MB/second for a while, must have been the only one on the beam at 5 am today!

It took me 100 minutes with an average download speed of 15 MB/s, launched immediately after without problems.
