I thought it would be fun and add RP flavour to the game. (It didn't really)
The first time, I wandered too close to a WW shrine by accident, and got bit, and decided to live with the affliction for some RP fun.
It was fun to play and had less bright effects than a lot of builds, and I did get into trouble with NPCs that saw me gambolling past them in the world. But I was discouraged by the lack of meaningful interactions with NPCs in the quest dialogues. I mean, there was a brief acknowledgement in a quest relating to Hircine, but in another instance I was in a WW village where I and the NPCs acted as if we were completely oblivious to each other. It broke immersion. I still have the WW, but I don't play it.
I eventually picked up Vampirism on another character because I had enjoyed a bunch of quests with NPC vampires and thought it might be better integrated with a vampire player. Alas, as with the WW, I was a bit confounded by the inconsistency in quest dialogues, in one place asked to do things that the quest NPC could not do on account of vampirism. And given there was a big storyline around vampires, I expected slightly more from the dialogues and ended up losing my immersion completely. Quicker movement in stealth was good, eating bad guys gave me some comical screenshots, but the vampire skin effect on my khajiit was pretty hideous and I got myself a cure.
It's a shame, it really could have been more fun!
If you join an guild, just as around for an bite at prime time and you get one.AvalonRanger wrote: »Necrotech_Master wrote: »why would you pay crowns to get vampire skill line when its common to get free bites from zone/guild chat? lol
