I would love for there to be a set of patch notes that goes in depth about all of the things added or changed in an update. This would best be a separate type of patch notes so that we don't lose the comparatively condensed version we have now which some people may prefer reading.

As an example, instead of saying, "A set of # new furnishing plans can be found in..." have a list of all of the new furnishing plans that were added. Bonus points if there are pictures of the furnishings along with where to obtain them. Or for another example, if there are furnishings that are added in a nonconventional way, say that in these notes. Looking at the v8.3.5 Scribes of Fate patch notes, I saw no mention of the furnishings that are gotten through the reward chests in Scrivener's Hall. A list of those items, like the book furnishings, would be perfect for these longer, beefier patch notes.

Combat and mechanic changes would also be great to have here, for any back end adjustments that don't make their way onto patch notes as we currently know them. I know that many people would not be interested in such verbose lists of info, but I'm a nerd who cares greatly for this game and I want to know what all is happening to it.

Still waiting for answers about class set aura behavior, and also hoping that one day hair dyeing will be an option. We know it's canon thanks to a book in the Manor of Masques! (House of Reveries: The Troupe)

They could include the extra information, but just wrap it in spoiler tags.

Would be nice to have it "dumbed down" too for us less tech lingo informed people lol.... this is a great idea

My hope would be for these more extensive notes being a separate thing from the regular notes so that a less technical version would still be available. Also then if people are in a rush, they could look at the less intensive notes.

Indeed, that would be a very significant piece of work for a small audience

Put me in a temp position and give me material to work with and I'd do. It'd be a great way to start a writing career, even if it leans more on the technical writing side. That's assuming ZOS doesn't already have someone in a position befitting of the task.

When they do live patch notes for release, they just copy/paste from the PTS notes with the same exact spelling and syntax errors, so I don't see them spending additional time writing more notes from scratch.

Yes given the length of the existing patch notes this sounds pretty sadistic for the person who has to sit down and produce them.

Lot less popular of a take than I thought it'd be. Even just a list of furnishings added and I'd be happy. If we can't be told what we're getting in an update, just a bit more information would be appreciated

I don't think even Microsoft does "exhaustive patch notes". I wouldn't want that dropped on Gina's shoulders on top of what she already has to do.

If you really think it would be valuable, perhaps once the patch drops, you could go through the whole of the new content and provide the notes for anyone really interested.

In the games I've played since the mid 80s, none of them ever offered "exhaustive" patch notes. Not even the single player ones - much less the mmos.

I read patch notes all the time for this game. I'm actually happy with the amount of info provided. I really don't want everything exposed to the bone though - I like surprises in new content. Even if I had the data to download (and update over the next few weeks) PTS, I wouldn't - I don't really want to know the details of the next release.
