Water mounts

I would like to see water mounts in the game. It may seem silly to someone, but I'm tired of getting from one shore to the other for 20 minutes, especially when you're not an Argonian. Just imagine, boats, sailboats, turtles, water snakes and others, especially if you make them group mounts. Finally, it will be possible to move quickly not only by land, but also by water. And no, I'm not suggesting that water mounts become an obstacle to piranhas, although this could be implemented, but I'm not sure about that anymore. And as for pumping such mounts, how about taking an analogue of the same stables, some ports.

Neat idea, but also a very niche one as well. Not likely unfortunately.

They should just allow for some (or all) mounts to swim at a certain (improved) speed.

While I would love sailboats and rafts, What I wouldn't want is to constantly switch mounts when there's water nearby just so I can cross it.

As for me, it's better to switch between mounts than just fall into the river from your horse and continue to swim manually.

Seems very niche. There is very little swimming you need to do in this game and I think you meant 20 seconds and not 20 minutes.

it's not only a water mount what is missing, an underwater world at all is missing....why we are not able to dive in to underwater dungeons or hunt big fishes or undead pirates? all is possible..would be so nice to discover the world under water...and by the way also some real waves would be cool, even the biggest ocean in tamriel has no real waves, sea is always silent...but it seems i started to dream, this was not the topic ;)
Life is like a river. Wisdom is knowing when to paddle and when to float. There's a time to grab your paddle and forge your way ahead in life and there's a time to just chill, relax and just go with the flow.

How about an amphibian? There's plenty of monster frogs around, tame one of them and you can hop around overland and swim through lakes!

Not sure how frogs do in salt water though... might get a bit wrinkly...

With an engine that relies on a defined surface for pathing, both swimming and flying are impossible for NPCs.

But the idea of water mounts doesn’t need that, and the humble rowboat should be viable. Slow, of course, so maybe you would just swim anyway. Jet skis would be an anachronism, even if Dwemer-built and steam-powered.

What's wrong with horses? That they're too boring? In my opinion, it is better to leave the horses. This, at least, is logical, and lorno, and not a lizard-griffin, which is full of all shades. IMHO.
Although, alas, even horses can shine with all existing and non-existing shades...

The horses would be fine - IF (huge IF) the artists could get them right. No horse I ever rode or owned over the last 50+ years looked like the ones in this game....

No problems with horses at all... I even have bought recently the Ashen Fang Courser.

What people mean sometimes is that horses are by far the mounts with most skins, so they could balance better with other types of mounts.

It is not easy lore-wise, or even creatively, but overall they have done an awesome job with mounts imo.

There're not much safe water zone in the game.
Just must remove killer fish before creating water mount creature.

Not sure about a mount necessarily, but what about a slottable boat. Like a coracle or something. That you pull out as needed. So the same idea, just not taking up the mount function.

It's useful not only in the few zones that do have stretches of water that get in the way (most obviously Blackwood), but also for certain houses. For example, the entire outside section of Seaveil Spire is accessible but it is mostly water. So getting around becomes a problem.

Slaughterfish is used to mark the edge of the map also to divide up Cyrodil, the reason why slaughterfish is so lethal there is to avoid people being able to cross while being healed.

Players are the only thing who can swim in ESO, even crocodiles can not swim, you see this if you use an ranged attack on an crocodile on the other bank of a river you have to swim to cross, crocodile will try to find an way around and will return if none is found inside its range.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I would like them to add some mount from other video game sagas to the game.
In Assassin's Creed Origins you can get the Chocobo mount from Final Fantasy.

I think they should just make all mounts able to swim. Or, if they make a water mount, the water mount should be slower on land. Or maybe they should just leave things as they are now. If you want to swim fast you have to be an argonian.

Well, I don't want to be an Argonian. And when I talk about water mounts, I'm talking about the fact that they are aquatic, they can't walk on land, just like land-based ones can't swim on water. Just a new type of mounts exclusively for water.

To be honest, I only become aware there is underwater in TES III when a dreugh cast a burden on my character swimming. IV and V also have uderwater but not moch to do there.Dunno why there is not in this game but at least it's not as terribad as in New World (jump in deep water in that gaem and you understand). Games I have tried where there is underwater world tend to underuse it. WOW for example has an underwater zone but only few quests with diving elsewhere. The WOW fishing raft is nice but buggy, water striders work as expected and the underwater mounts are bit limited utility afaik. Wildstar had few diving quests and also howering mounts which slide over land and water as easily.

On a more serious note, I'd love to see gryphons as mounts, they're gorgeous creatures ( in fact, I felt guilty killing a bunch of them the other day to get a prismatic sunbird feather for the house <<innocently whistles>> ). It probably won't ever happen, though, because flying mounts are as about as likely to be added to the game as swimming mounts.

(yes, I reused the Buffy loan shark, it just seemed fitting)

If it happens in wrothgar you may get it back by catching and filleting the purple fish.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.
