Mora's Whispers' ***inspiration boost*** makes near-zero sense

So we have an item that is:

1) Requires the player to max out the antiquities skill line
2) Requires multiple completion of some of less trivial content (ICP and Atoll of Immolation) not counting just a lot of grind for other leads (just for the fun of it, I rolled a new character and hit L50 in the Vile Manse before I got that lead -- AFTER getting thoroughly frustrated trying to get it on my main and it not dropping in over 300 chests).
3) Essentially requires getting all the Shalidor's Library books
4) Only can be equipped on a CP160 character

... For a potential 10% boost to Inspiration.

Now, even without all those limitations, that is an ability most useful for new players, with exponentially diminishing utility for alts.

WITH these limitations, I have a hard time imagining someone who cares about their craft skills not maxing them out LONG before they could really find this ability useful, even on new alts.

While points 1 and 2 are account-, not character-related and only need to be done once, 3 and 4 would still make this ability nothing but a bit of flavor text...

The same (to the lesser degree) applies to the Inspiration Boost green star that you can only fully use if you are at least CP195 AND beeline for it, completely ignoring all other abilities in the Thief tree. It is completely useless for anyone who has already maxed crafting levels, the most useful for new players, and is inaccessible to them.

(And don't get me started on how the green tree is a total failure as a whole AND is made just to punish people playing on consoles.)

You state all the reasons why I've never bothered hunting grinding for it.
It's only value IMO, is if you have alts above CP160 who don't have crafting maxed out.

For PVP there may be some value to it for AP\AR gain, but I imagine most PVPers will want that slot for other items.
For PVE I spose it could be used for XP grinding from monster kills.
But yeah, the effort to bonus ratio is not so great.

EDIT: Forgot to add, for the green passive I'd like to see them add an XP\AP boost to it. THEN it would have some value later in the game, especially when you get closer to CP 2000 the gains come very slowly. So any little bonus bit would be helpful.

Mora's whisper needs a full rework. It's literally a grinding mythic that requires grinding(aka lorebook hunting) to even make the grinding aspect less grindy?

I used a lot of repeat words there, but that's how it functions.
This seriously needs to be changed

1 item: Gain up to 1528 Critical Chance and 10% increased Inspiration, Alliance Rank, Alliance skill, and 15% monster kill experience based off how many books of Shalidor's Library have been collected. Current Bonus: x Critical Chance x% Inspiration, Alliance Rank, and Alliance skill x% monster kill experience.

It's an item that quite literally rewards you for the more "knowledge" you have attained on your character. Given that it's grounded in lore, and isn't even remotely meta, I think that it's fine the way it is. If you want to use it at maximum effectiveness, then all you have to do is go read some books.

I’ve found Inspiration Boost very helpful for alts. Once your account is CP 195, you can have Inspiration Boost on each level 1 character you make. You do not need to wait to get to level 50 to apply your CP.

ETA: It will help anyone who hasn’t focused on crafting to catch up, and it will help everyone with raising new crafters, making it faster to repeat the process. That’s what it seems to be there for, imo - to ease the process of leveling crafting on subsequent characters.

I think Mythics should be equipable on characters of all levels.

I think it would add quite a lot more creativity and fun to the levelling of subsequent characters, without affecting the experience of new players negatively.

The only caveat would be that the balance in sub-50 PVP campaigns could suffer, so maybe disallowing the use of Mythics in those campaigns could fix that.

I think Mora's is in a good spot, it has a really well difinited and relevant role in pve as one of the 3 best mythics (not including oakensoul) , it comes in last in terms of damage, but has the nice benefit of being useful in every fight, where the two other mythics aren't, the cost is it being a shoulder and blocking monster sets. The extra AP is super nice if you're farming up alliance skill line on a new character. The inspiration is great if you're lvl'ing up crafting to get hirelings and better writs on an alt. The XP is super usefull when farming up skills. I really don't see the issue. Getting the books will take a while, not that long if you're being efficient at it, and lvl'ing up mages guild is already a thing you do for most characters. I think the only thing they could add is that the damage does not scale of books only the XP / AP / Inspiration bonuses, as this would make the book grind optional.

FYI the crit bonus is based on finding all of the books from Shalidors Library, which is an exponentially longer grind than getting the leads for the mythic, but NOTE: EACH INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER MUST FIND ALL OF THE BOOKS. IT DOES NOT TRANSFER TO OTHER CHARACTERS IN YOUR ACCOUNT.

So basically, a mythic for a single character to use.

And honestly, I don’t know anyone who enjoys grinding books for Mage’s Guild.

I doubt many are using this mythic.

Um. I don't find books a grind. My characters read every book they com across in normal gameplay. I've got many alts who are at MG level 10 on books alone - I've never bothered to do the MG quests on them, because I despise Sheo. And my mains (3 accounts, both PC megaservers) all have "Shalidor's Library", not that it matters because I don't have any interest at all in this particular mythic.

My point is, there's really no grind for MG - it's just reading books as you stumble across them. And even though I really won't do the questline any more - it's not that big a deal. I just refuse to intereact any more with Sheo.

10% crafting inspiration is just one small thing that is on the item... It does a few other things, including 1,528 critical chance increase which is quite nice. I'm using it on my Necromancer right now.

I would agree for the item itself, if it were only one item, with a lead you could simply pick up in a particularly dark corner of a library, or get as a guaranteed drop from the Vile Manse group event. As it is, getting the item isn't worth the effort.

I respectfully acknowledge those who enjoy finding lorebooks and don’t consider it a grind. I primarily PvP, and repeating any PvE content is not interesting to me. But it’s refreshing to hear from those who enjoy taking the time to find lorebooks. I wish I did too!

You can't equip it on the new character, only once you hit L50.

And for all the people pointing out other abilities:

I /specifically mentioned/ that I am talking only about the inspiration boost.

I think the inspiration boost is clearly a flavor thing, which is why I don't think it's a problem at all.

The experience gain is pretty pointless for the reasons explained by others.

I use the Mythic for the Crit chance boost and the bonus AP gain. I think getting every book is a drag, especially in Cyro, but it just means I use it on fewer characters.

I really like this mythic. Mythics in general I always see as an option really, but this one seems great. I won't grind it though because one of the leads drops in ICP and that dungeon is long and stupid so pass.

I wish I could get it though, it apparently stacks with Torte and Whitestrake scroll for Mayhem, I want a GO character already lol. I am a bit of an alt person, have 18 characters, and switch a lot. I started focusing on one character so I can get GO.

I have this mythic and use it for the crit bonus alone as it provides more crit than Slimecraw. I'm in the minority perhaps given I like the book hunting but this varies with my time and care as long as it's giving me more crit than Slime craw. I'm not fussed about maxing it out as long as it's higher than Slimecraw but I'll eventually get more books as I go.

I'm going to have to scratch my head here because the complaint doesn't make huge amounts of sense to me. The 10% inspiration boost is only one of the effects from equipping it, although I agree that a pretty underwhelming effect (I have one out of six toons who could possibly benefit from from that effect and even then only on two skill lines - that toon is about 6 weeks old). It maybe makes a modicum of sense for those who PvP and do Cyrodiil and IC since it speeds up Alliance Rank gains, and maybe a bit of sense for PvE'ers with the 15% XP bonus for monster kills. All told, it's a lot of work for minimal payoff, but it does potentially put non-subscribers on reasonably equal footing with subscribers, so I can see where someone might want to go to the effort. It's not something I'd be particularly interested in chasing, but you do you, I guess.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Mora's Whispers is actually meta on certain characters. The crit chance it gives is 1528 vs the max of 1100 on kilt. This is better if you hit the crit cap, and is a flat boost not having to maintain stacks. It is actually BiS on my khajiit warden who struggles to LOWER my crit damage to the crit cap.
