Controller specific QOL changes you'd like to see

Hey folks, as a controller exclusive player thanks to the condition of my hands, I've got a few ideas for some Quality of Life changes that I think should be made at some point. I recognize that these are probably low on the totem pole, but still think they are worth addressing.

1. Allow us to choose a quantity when interacting with items/attributes/etc. When I change my characters build, I have to press the right button on my Dpad 64 times. That's crazy. It actually hurts to do it sometimes, cause of my joints. The same is true for Skill Points. I hate having to press RB 10 times in each crafting skill.
2. Include a "clear all notifications" option for inventory management under the Extra actions sub menu. Having to endlessly scroll through the crafting bag to clear out each individual ! notification on an item is mind numbing. Some of us hate that visual clitter and just want to press a single button to clear them out.
3. Allow us to toggle walk and run mode. I know that the real estate for a controller is small already, but perhaps changing a key to be a modifier would allow for more freedom in toggles and such. I don't really have an idea for how to make this joker modifier work but I do think it should be looked at and considered.

That's really I have right now, as these just occurred to me today in an extended play session (which are rare for me these days). If any of you have any other ideas for Controller specific QOL changes drop them in this thread. Let's get some ideas down folks!

I can't remember what's controller specific, but a couple of things I'd like to see:

    1. the ability to search on every inventory screen

    2. An "X all" whenever possible. For example, Deconstruct All, rather than having to select all the items individually and then press X. Just let us press one button to deconstruct everything.

    3. Put style items and trait items in alphabetical order in the crafting create interface (and anywhere else it would make sense). Right now, there's no order to anything, which can be frustrating. For example, if you want the Dead-water style material, there's no way to just jump to it. You have to scroll through the long list and because there's no order to it, it's easy to blow by it and then have to backtrack.

these are all things that would help a lot.

a way to filter inventory for specific types of items like recipes/motifs/armor would be useful

    1) You can hold down the button, no need to hit it 64 times. :/

    2) Where is #2?

    3) I don't get why you'd need to do this unless you were constantly staring at your inventory.

    4) Controller users already have speed control built in via being gentle on the joystick.

    1. I have never been able to just hold the button down on a controller. I've been playing with this controller for 4 years and it has never worked that way.
    2. was always there but was changed to 3 in an edit
    3. When I press start to see anything character related a giant ! is in front of my inventory menu and it irritates me. It would also be helpful for things like leads, notifications, collections etc
    4. I have mobility issues with my hands which makes precise control difficult with a stick, hence the request for a toggle.

    2. Yeah this is actually really annoying
    3. I don't have a mobility issue but would have no problem with a toogle if it helped others

If you're on Steam, you can map out of the touch pad on PS4/PS5 controllers in Big Picture Mode. Each of the 4 corners, the center press, and touchpad itself can have different commands, if you like you could make one of the corners do walk only.

I've always held down the button to fill out champion or stat points, it ticks slowly and after a half second it fills up faster; only skill points on like crafting require confirmation each time. If you have a baseline of points you know you're going to use on every build, you can save just those spent stat/skill/champion points in the Armory Station as a soft reset so you don't have to refill them every single time. Only the points you do change with builds you leave open. Top one could be all Stamina and Bottom could be all Magicka.

I ignore the notifications of new items, is it an OCD thing that draws your attention? Do you have to look at each item? That be weird when I collect 90 mail from all my hireling items and have to look at every single item lol.

Some way to make it so ‘revive’ is not on the same teeny tiny button as ‘inventory’.

I don't know about consoles, but on PC while in gamepad mode it in Options, Gameplay, and about the 4th option down is Templates switch it to B changes your Jump button separate from Interact. We can also custom keybind which kind of makes this point moot.

    # 3 - there actually is an order, but it's incredibly and ridiculously unhelpful. That order is - the order in which DLCs/chapters dropped. So it starts with the base game styles (other than Imperial which, for whatever reason, is several slots away from the other base races) then starts going into styles like Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Craglorn, Wrothgar, Morrowind, Summerset, etc. In sequential release order.

Even for a veteran of the game who's played from the start and mostly remembers the order, I find this annoyingly hard to navigate. Instead of alphabetizing it, they just slap each new style mat onto the end of the line.

So, definitely agree something I've wanted forever is style mats to be alphabetical order. Or at worst, fine, put the base race style mats first as most common, but for the love alphabetize the chapter/DLC style mats at crafting stations.

I would also add my own recommendation of being able to select a quantity when purchasing things in bulk. For example, I run furniture stores. I craft A LOT. If I want to restock, say, Starmetal for my Redguard furniture and want to buy 500-600, I have to sit there and hold my button for half a century as it scrolls through every single number counting up to 600. Please, just let me input 600, take my gold, give me the stones.

A slow run isn't the same thing as walk. The animation isn't the same.

There is a premade layout available with those separated. I think it is "Layout B". It puts jump to RS while interact is still A.
I further custom mapped mine on an Xbox Elite 2 controller.

It's not a slow run, you can literally walk by gently pushing on the joystick, I've been on PS since launch, I use controller on PC. But in OP's case, yes, I guess disabilities probably vent this.
