there is a radiant apex mount in Galen for all to see and it got me thinking. why not add even more to the other stables across the map? if this is some clever way of promoting crown crates mounts why not go all the way?

    Hell no.

It's bad enough that we can't ignore those eyesores when a player rides them.

I rather they have more normal mounts the people of Tamriel normally use. Seeing some random wandering merchant with a fire atronach horse or some glowing vampiric giant wolf at a common stable is just weird.

Nah I use one and even I admit they’re eye sores. Not super lore-friendly anyway, other than some dumb hyperbolic flavor text some intern wrote in 5 minutes.

It would be great if the stables had more mounts you can buy for gold. Time the stable masters upgraded their stock!

I find it bloody stupid that there are stables with mounts on display that you can not buy from the stable master. So no, not a fan of this idea.

Apex mounts must go from the game entirely and their owner gets a refund

addendum: it's never too late to fix mistakes

The only places I can see basically any of the radiant mounts existing are at stables in like... planes of Oblivion, not some High Rock town.

If the stables get any update it should be that different regions sell different regular mounts ex. guar in Black Marsh/Morrowind, senche in Elsweyr, etc. We already have things in the crownstore available in game for a fraction of the crownstore price (vampire bites and cures), so why not basic mounts?

If you read the flavor text on many of those mounts, you very quickly realize that these things aren't supposed to be super common in-universe--they're rare, oftentimes magical anomalies, freaks of nature or constructs that normal everyday people will never see let alone ride around on.

They're not the kind of mount you'd see saddled up and waiting at a hitching post. I can suspend disbelief when other players are riding around on them--as far as I'm concerned those players aren't actually there in my TES universe. It becomes a whole different thing when they're strapped up and ready to go at the local stable.

      Would definitely impress the bystanders:

Regular mount purchased: rider gives a little whistle, swings up into the saddle, then a quick stroke and a 'good boy, easy now'...clops away.

Radiant Apex mount purchased: WHOOSH! Huge, glowing sphere of energy with electricity arcing all around. BOOM! Rider and mount apesr inside a massive red-hot spherical section vaporized out of the stable wall.

Bystander tuts, "Still not worth 16k seals mind."

You want to know something interesting? For all of the various mounts that exist in game, and the many many stables... I have yet to see an npc or mob or boss riding a mount at most all we see are pack animals

On High Isle in Gonfalon Bay there are some guards on horseback, though they don't actually work like regular guards.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't view other players as canon, and I don't think I'm supposed to really. Others are adventurers and only your player character is the vestige. And they may not necessarily look like my player character remembers or maybe they do, who knows? So I think they basically want us to ignore anything we don't like that other players are doing and go on about our own business, which I can respect as it's an MMO where everyone is doing the same thing and their version of the game is just as canon to them as mine as is to me. Some people prefer the world a bit more magical and others a bit less so.

But, when these mounts are in towns or hitches behind some trader, then that's different. I can accept a few traders out there would get their hands on such exotic and rare beauties and even hitch them in town. So it's fun to see rarely, but I wouldn't want it to be a trend.
