Make sorc birds less distracting?

Make sorc birds half the size and make them not flip wings
I'm sorry for the guys which are social enough to put their flappies away in towns and other social hubs, but I have to vote for a change here. Switch to another mob, let them sit or port away if out of combat, if you must remove them entirely.

Fact is: For every social and polite sorcerer, who puts away his twilight there are 20 or more antisocial beings, which just don't care, if their eyesore is flapping in anybodys faces (of course they get annoyed by flappies of other sorcs tho^^)

And to clarify the problem: We are not talking about a few frightened twilights here and there, desperate to defend their master from hordes of enemies, we are talking about this:

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

the flappybirds really destroy immersion and block the view.

they should need to be recasted after a while and turned off out of combat.

Oh, how little you know... We've been asking for new skins for an eternity but it's falling on deaf ears.

I honestly don't understand why ZOS is being so stubborn with this.

It'll be ridiculous to make them smaller.

The best solution is to give us the option to not see other players skill effects and pets. Specially now, with the horrible Arcanists coming soon with all those intrusive green light effects. It's becoming urgent to give us an option to disable other players visual trash. But if someone likes that mess, let them continue watching it. It should be optional.

I know it's been said a million times, but we just need ZOS to extend the "hide other players' pets" feature so it's actually effective. They should be hidden in a 15-20m radius around wayshrines and any merchants (including indoors, and especially high use merchants such as bankers).

@ZOS_Kevin , @ZOS_GinaBruno : could you please take this into consideration? You'd make a lot of your customers very happy if this change was implemented. :)

I would be fine with making them see-through so I don't have a gray blob flapping its wings in front of my while tanking, or shopping, or walking in town...

There's an animation for Winged Twilights sitting. Just make them sit when the owning player isn't moving and isn't in combat.

Yeah I would prefer to make them half size and have them sit. Or at least just make them half size.

It would bother me if they were suspended in air without flapping their wings, so I don't think I'll participate in the vote

in PVE you´re destrying the view and immersion though, and what good are the pets to you within cities?

Well, indeed in PvP the flappies aren't annoying anyone for much longer than 10 seconds before they return into the void they belong

It's just bad and antisocial behaviour not to despawn them inside social hubs, a troll's practice if you want to call it so.

But, even if it will take it's time (it took zos 8 years to put stuga in her place) the change will come if this practice doesn't stop.

And we all know the way how zos implements the slight adjustments which are requested by the community after years of planning them.

By the name of Talos, the nerfhammer it is. And dual wielded, that's for sure.

A tank complained about my flappy bird recently. I apologised then jokingly dropped my atronach on him. He laughed. To be fair, tanking with a menagerie obscuring your view is annoying. An option to hide other people’s pets seems like the obvious solution.

TBH my own flappy bird gets in my way more often or not. I would love to make them much much smaller! The scamp doesn't bother me as he runs around, but those giant wings in my face get on all of my many many nerves lol

Maybe they could fly a little higher when they are in town? It wouldn't take much. Just enough so if I'm at a station the wings are not such a visual distraction in the background.

Well, it wouldn't take much to simply despawn it. It's literally opening the character screen and rightclicking the corresponding entry there.

Oh, I agree. It's just that some players are never going to do that. We'll need a bit of intervention from the devs I'm afraid.

I don't want to see them at all. Other options that could work would include vastly reducing the size. Turning them into a ground based pet instead. Remove the head height flapping at least while the owner is standing still. Have them invisible in towns (when not in combat). Have them invisible at all times when not in combat. Allow reskins earned in game or in store.

I'm sure there are other options, but I find them to be a tremendous visual distraction in an otherwise beautiful game.

Last night someone put their twilight just in the edge of my frame of view -- so the wings were clipping, flickering into and out of my entire view very rapidly from just behind me.

It did get me wondering, all other things aside. Given their size, have they even been checked as a potential epilepsy trigger?

Step 1. Redesign twilight tormentor. They are very ugly, it's time to do it. (And also for the bone colossus, daedroth, banekins, etc, etc. SERIOUSLY, THIS LOOKS HORRIBLE NOW!)
    [snip]

Done. Now the players will, on the contrary wait until the next sorcerer comes running to the city. He-he.

I'm just getting depressed that, even with all their names being tagged in various posts in this thread, no ZOS staff have yet replied to this thread. It would be nice to have some acknowledgement that they at least *know* about this problem.
