This was a tough one for me.

I've never used Oakensoul in PvP, only PvE. I don't even know how well it would hold up in PvP. I enjoy it on my MagBlade and (soon to be) MagSorc, because I am Scrub Team Six when it comes to PvE DPS (I prefer healing and tanking).

On the other hand, a Major Heroism mythic for PvP sounds fairly incredible, especially on my MagPlar healer. Getting off constant Barriers and Practiced Incantation sounds great.

If I absolutely have to choose, keep Oakensoul

Between the battle roar passive and corrosive armor, my DK would love cheap major heroism with 100% uptime. Build for straight damage not sustain or defense? Yes please.

Major Heroism is too strong of a buff to have 100% uptime. It would be utterly broken in PvP and competitive PvE; it would immediately be the new meta. It was one of the reasons why it was removed from Oakensoul in the first place as it allowed for cheap ultimates to be cast too frequently. Sorcs were capable of putting down multiple atro ultimates in many raids when the old Oakensoul was used in conjunction with Minor Heroism potions and the Pillager's Profit set. And in PvP you just spam defensive ultimates making one nearly unkillable when paired with the then Mara's Balm set.

Major Heroism is definitely a buff that needs to be budgeted tightly in order to maintain healthy combat and balance.

People either forget or weren't around when Dynamic Ultimate generation was in the game. Permanent/overlapping Standard, Bat Swarm/any powerful Ultimate was a thing. And it was terrible.

So no. Major Heroism should be short and rare.

I don't think Major Heroism on it's own is enough value to justify burning a Mythic item Slot in most content for most people

Further, with the new Transformative Hope Set which can grant Major Heroism and the Cryptcannon Vestments that can transfer it one might already be hitting more ultimate than some might wish in some areas.

Gain Major Heroism at all times. Only transformation ultimates may be slotted. It would be a helmet or shoulder so you can't use a monster 2pc and light armor. Even then, it would be pretty wild out there lol

No. It apparently broke PvP to have major heroism. Think you can get it from like drakes rush with some downtime anyways.

It's interesting.

I think when it was attached to Oakensoul it was insane. With the right set combo, you could have 100% uptime on the Storm Atro, alongside all of the offensive and defensive buffs that Oakensoul provided. It was pretty wild, and in some cases, you could even have 2-3 Storm Atros active at the same time.

Now, a mythic with Only Major Heroism, maybe make it a Head piece to prevent a monster set combo, could be interesting. Yeah, you could still run an ult gen setup to get 100% uptime on some ults, and the same effectiveness of Storm Atro for example. But, you would be doing so without the benefit of all the buffs that Oakensoul provides. So it wouldn't be as overpowered, I don't think. And, on a more balanced build, it would just mean greater ultimate uptimes, rather than good uptimes paired with good damage.

As others have said... Permanent major heroism on the original oakensoul in addition to the plethora of other buffs (not without drawback to be fair,) was too strong. That is not the same however as a mythic that only gives major heroism.

Frankly I don't think many people would use it. DKs would at least attempt to use it, for sure, and we're all wary of DKs at the moment. But in an ESO where DKs aren't already reigning supreme I think this mythic would be fine. It would benefit DK more than others... And that would also be fine.

But so honestly I think it'd be a fine addition. DK needs nerfing NOW. I'm not going to judge future game items by how they add to a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. It's not the item's fault. It doesn't even exist.

I think my favorite use of the original Oakensoul with Major Heroism, was a build on a sorc that could spam meteors every 8 seconds. It was wild.

I'd definitely use a Major Heroism only ring in PVE at least. Getting more uptime on strong ults is useful.

when i saw the thread title i was going to be like "you can get slightly better ult gen than major heroism from the pearls, we dont need a mythic for major heroism"

"Hero's Locket" - While equipped, you gain Major Heroism at all times. While equipped, you can gain no other major buffs.

Ultimates out of the wazoo. But no Major Berserk, no Major Protection, no Major Resolve, no Major Evasion, no Major Courage, no Major Endurance/Intellect/Fortitude, no Major Vitality, etc., etc.

But I prefer to show clearly that I have no interest for things I don't care about: so no please. Let it be as is. There are - for me - other priorities.

Transformative Hope just makes me laugh. The proc condition is quite absurd - getting from 40% to 90% is doubtful. Cooldown is 5 seconds.

For a cooldown of 6 seconds, you could use Drake's Rush set. You just need to bash once.

This would probably be on par with Shapeshifter's Chain : Reduce the cost of your Transformation Ultimate and Werewolf abilities by 15%.

Of course it would. My current DK build almost has perma-Magma. Magma is ready in about 17-20 seconds and it's still not good enough but I literally exhausted all Ultimate sources. It forces me to use Vampiric Drain which impeaches my blocking. So it's not that great.
