Hair dying using all achieved colors

Mights sound crazy but I think it would be really fun to be able dye your characters hair color making use of all achieved colors, I would think going to any outfit station with a new option for hair dying would be fantastic. Why not have your High Elf with beautiful dark locks or your wood elf with a great purple hue? Share your thoughts! Sometimes players enjoy a red haired look but red hair clashes with some colors so it makes it a problem. I would think it great if hair dying was a thing, hope to see it one day soon.

I did love in Oblivion that I could have a character with bright blue or green hair... was disappointed when Skyrim didn't have that. Tbh though, I would settle for being able to have black hair on my High Elf.

I'm all for allowing hair dyes in natural shades, but not bright green, blue, pink, purple, etc. There are enough eyesores in ESO already, I don't want any more.

It should work same as the Hair "cosmetic packs" from the Crown Store. You are limited to what each race can use during character creation. So Argonians can "equip" horns & feathers, but nothing else (and vice-versa, you can not equip horns on other races). So hair colours would be limited to what you can pick during character creation for each race.

      Great solution!

Obviously a basic haircut functionality at an ingame barber would not work given the way wigs have been implemented, but I'd absolutely love a way to change between basic hair colours for gold ingame, especially with better lighting options than is present in the character creation screen.

Why? We already have options to totally alter our appearance with polymorphs and skins and whatnot. It's a high magic fantasy world. Why should this tiny part remain natural? Not that I have any desire to dye my characters' hair pink personally.

I say what I say whenever this is brought up: No thanks.
Many of those dyes are absolutely horrible.

I'm all for a cosmetic hair colour pack, though, of the colour selects from character creator. Like the adornments, hairstyles etc ones.
They often unluck cosmetics you could not pick in character creator for everyone, so would make sense a hair colour one would work the same. So it could allow us to use more hair colours, which we already see npcs use. Such as letting altmer use darker hair colours such as Leythen has. Give imperials a proper black hair colour (seriously why don't they have that?), there's also some nord npcs which has a red colour we don't have access to etc.
Like adornments they can have some racial restrictions, but colours like the mentioned ones should be available.

As you could probably tell with my signature, I'm all for hair dyeing! I wouldn't want it to be just the basic colors, though. We see characters with hair colors that we players don't have access to (looking at the black-haired Altmer). And as a case for brightly colored hair, it is lore friendly for it to exist in this period of time. There's a lorebook in Summerset that says, "Learn to change your voice, adopt new mannerisms, dye your hair bright colors." (https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:House_of_Reveries:_The_Troupe)

We already have unnaturally colored hair available, but it's greatly limited. Look at the Magenta Rainbow Hair, Rotmeth Hangover Bed-Head, and the Mane-of-Many-Rivers, to name a few. Besides, dyed hair would be no more garish than what some helmets can be dyed to be. Not to mention the fact that mounts and armor appearances are much more unsightly than what hairs could ever be.

Even if they have the hair dye be dye stamps like there exists in the Crown Store already, I'd be happy with that.

Still waiting for answers about class set aura behavior, and also hoping that one day hair dyeing will be an option. We know it's canon thanks to a book in the Manor of Masques! (House of Reveries: The Troupe)

Yes it's very strange that you can buy all the hairstyles but not all the colours.

And yet, despite the 'anything goes in a world of magic' theory, player characters are looking increasingly alien to the world their npc counterparts are living in. So it is by the standards of the world ZOS themselves created, based on the ES series, mostly Skyrim, that more and more costumes, mounts, skins and whatnot are extravagant to the point of being downright silly. Hair dying in itself would not be the most glaring offender but it all adds up.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Black hair for glorious Altmer! I'd love hair dye, especially since when I switch hairstyles some of them appear an entirely different colour anyway. As to the argument that everyone would dye their hair stupid colours, that was the exact argument people used for not wanting us to have the ability to dye weapons. I'm almost certain if you cba to do a search you'd find one of the many threads talking about the slippery slope with allowing pink weapons etc. Plus, I'd say weird coloured hair is not as visually assaulting as all the dazzling skins, gaudy weapon styles and the insane summon animations for those epic premium super-duper shiny mounts.

I'd love an option to dye my hair in different colors.

Let's not talk about how pink or other colors would not be lore friendly when we have already lots of different flashy mounts from the crown store. It's not the hair color of some people that would really be shocking.

I'd like an option to dye hair, even if it's unlikely I'd pick neon pink for my toons. We already have plenty of ways to choose how we look, including changing hair styles, so it's odd that hair color is limited to using an appearance change token. By all means, give players more options if that'll improve their fun.

I'm indifferent about hair color but the message you replied to is saying it might be time to quit heaping more onto the glitter pile. If you don't like seeing some of what is already in game then yeah adding more similar stuff is to much. What we already have for some is to much.

We have hair where parts of the hair is dyed a certain color like… https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Mane-of-Many-Rivers or https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Magenta_Rainbow_Hair

It’s not a full on dye job, but it’s close to it. I wouldn’t mind seeing more hair style like these.
