Add a dye channel to underwear.

Sometimes I get fed up with all of the outfit styles and decide to just rework my build and unequip the chest slot entirely. But then I'm left with a muted purple seaweed Bra whose closest dye equivalent is Shein Violet. Unless I'm okay with the top being it's own color, I'm forced to dye other pieces that purple to match.

May we please be able to dye underclothes so we can satisfy Elder Fashion Online while having unequipped chests/legs?

I'd prefer option to remove underwear. For some reason TES games traditionally have really, really ugly underwear desings, and can't mod it away on a MMO.

Ugly and BROWN! If they can't be removed (some people are so prudish about natural bodies), then dyeing them is a great option.

Some of the underwear is a fashionable modern-looking black design. If we can't get a dye channel for the underwear, can I at least get that black? That is a better black than anything I have managed to collect.

I don't think people realize the slippery slope of asking for unmentionables being fully rendered in game. True, nudity in general is often way over sexualized, but that's not the only issue. There will be the issue of people wanting sliders for stuff like that, and then there's the fact that ZOS probably just doesn't want to focus time on modeling 3D junk onto the models. I'd prefer an option to make undergarments match the skin tone for the model wearing it, to give the illusion of nudity without having any controversial bits showing.

Or they could just make all models like Ken and Barbie dolls and not even bother with modeling delicate bits, so we can still remove undergarments without people getting all up in arms about it.

We should be able to dye them regardless, since they are technically clothing. I have a feeling they're not rendered separately like armor or outfits are, though, but are instead part of the base model itself. Nothing about them can be changed or removed, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're actually just different colored parts of the base model.

I think you are probably correct in that the underwear is part of the base texture. No doubt they could allow recoloring, although at what cost, I cannot say.

I am pretty sure I asked ZOS about this back in 2019 and received a negative answer. I also recall joking comments about asking about underwear, which should definitely be a repressed memory. In any case, I don't want to be the ESO underwear rep for the community, so I will stop now.

I thought the game was M rated. Why would they be responsible for children playing? That’s their parents jobs. That said I wouldn’t want all out nudity either.

I would be in favor of underwear not being seen under some costumes though.

The design of the female one always bothered me. It looks weirdly modern and the bottoms don’t cover enough. I doubt they’d ever change it but I feel like at least black shorts like men have would be better.

A lot of stuff sells or would but ZOS doesn't listen!

I mean my Orc might be interested in some pink, frilly knickers for 1k crowns. I'll have to ask him.

More customisation is always good. It doesn't have to be 100% necessary.

If that's true then there's also an underwear-less character texture for when we have an outfit or costume equipped. We've seen it before with an old old bug where people's chest or leg slots didn't render and we were essentially nude, but the textures didn't have the "detailing".

Even if the undergarments weren't their own meshes/textures I'd still think it wouldn't be that hard making them able to be dyed.

Um, if you want to see how this could become, there is a reason why FFXIV devs have warned players about posting nude images online as a result of nudity mods. There is an entire server where ERP is the norm, and what you find there can be quite disturbing. We don't need ESO to gain that type of reputation, and I doubt Microsoft would be happy with any of that type of publicity either.

One can wish but really, forced ugly underwear is something the rest of the world just have to live with when playing a murrican game. I do not expect (or want) Korean loli level of intricateness but really if devs must confirm to silly taboos, why intentionally make underwear ugly and out of place?

I just wish it looked more like real underwear of that kind of world. Like we had in Skyrim, where it actually looked like cloth.

Beast Race underwear has a different texture from the Men/Mer, and it has a muted purple color. Hence Purple Seaweed.

This is prob the last thing I’d even think of for the devs to change. Just like underwear in real life for me it’s the same for the game. No one sees it but me it doesn’t matter if it’s blue or brown.

I think there is much more pressing matters for the devs to fix than underwear colors but that’s just me.

I think an easier solution would be to have you have an option in Character Creation to pick between a few basic colors.
