Hotbar wish

Man, I really wish they could give us just two more slots for abilities. It would make combat more interesting I think. Is it true they can't do this because of the console's limited options? I heard something that ESO was made for consoles first and PC second.

They should give us way more than two. Older MMORPGs give you virtually unlimited hotbars and slots.

people use controllers on pc too not just on playstation and xbox consoles.

The difference on PC is that we can custom keybind the controller. L1 is my sprint and modifier key, R1 is jump, L1+R1 is roll dodge, L1+cross is use synergy, L1+triangle is command pet/companion, L1+square and L1+circle are currently unused.

ESO wasn't made first for console, it came out first on PC but ZoS knowing the console market ensured the control scheme was console friendly/compatible as no sane company would want to ignore that market at the height of console popularity in the early teens.

I used to lament the limited control scheme coming from other PC MMOs preferring the 10-12 button scheme, but now ESO's feels intuitive and I'm very happy with it and bar swapping as one who's played since closed Beta.

Other games have all sorts of cooldowns on skills which limits how often they can be used.

In a game without cooldowns, you need to find a different way to limit skill usage otherwise everyone would have every skill available at all times which would ,in my opinion, be a pretty ridiculous gameplay experience devoid of choice and consequence.

ESO settled on 10 skills + 2 ultimates. You could argue for more but it's a rabbit hole situation.

cant blame everything on console. if u look at the skills. there are passive effects that go with them. there are passive effects in skill trees that go with skills. if you had so many slots open you would become a god... what is sustain when i can have recovery from support line. what is sustain when i can nab every mage skill line. its a balancing issue not a console issue. please research smh...

LOL, the excuses here are amazing. I also play LOTRO a game built around the PC. So I guess ESO was built around the PC with a controller, not the mouse. Even Guild Wars 2 has more hot bars and you can play that with a controller.

I really wish they would remove the 6 slots (all 2bar).

Or the skills would be redesigned (nerfed) to compensate for them all being available.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I was thinking about this today.

Then I thought "Oakensoul" and realized that if we had six or seven slots then there would be even less of a downside to a single bar build.
