8 TOTAL LOCKPICKS TO SLAY THE TREASURE CHEST BOSS / VIDEO

Having a skeleton key is too much. Even on Skyrim you only keep the key by not finishing the quest, what is not meant to be. But I agree that locksmith is bugged, because having a lockpick broken happens often. What shouldn't be, because 25% chance of it happening 3 times in a row would be less than 2%

A Skeleton Key would be there for those who want to use it. If you don't want it, don't use it. It's an unbreakable lockpick. Also, it would work with the Locksmith passive, allowing you to force open the chest. 8 years of break break break...it's time for an update...or trip to the past...SKELETON KEY! Please?

Side note, many people who is on an achievement run, like a speed achievement will ignore the chest because it takes away from your time, break break break, or pick. Now imagine the person who's trying to complete a sticker book. A Skeleton Key would help.

Another idea, if one person opens a chest, everyone gets the loot. A shared chest. That way no one misses out.

Unironically the only way something like this would be introduced since it teeters on the edge of P2W and convenience.

It's not P2W at all. It's QOL improvement.

just go back for the chests when the run is over.

If people think that having the Armoury Assistant available in Trials and Dungeons would be considered P2W, having an unbreakable lockpick making sure you never need another one could be considered P2W.

Like I said, its teetering on the edge due to the fact people will pay for lockpicks with in-game gold, but if this becomes available, it makes them useless.

The thing is that failing something 7 times in a row that has an 80% chance of succeeding would have such low odds at any betting, that this should come with some sort of achievement color or something imo. But this is ZOS RNG after all, where it seems you have about 50/50 on anything (each RNG round) regardless of "chance percentage". Except leads or drops you want, of course.

Getting 7 failed picks on 80% chance... try throwing a dice and see if you get a 6 seven times in a row, (you didn't get a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 which has an ~83% chance) and how long that took if you like.

PS. Failing an 80% lockpick 5 times in a row is now so common for me that I've also reacted to this as well.

Also, there was two other people who had their lockpick break on that same chest. It took a total of 10 picks. 7 broke on me in a row, and one each from the other two people, and one final pick from me to open it. It was a boss of a chest.

That many in a row is ridiculous, but it's not uncommon to have multiple break. A simple chest with an 85% chance really feels like its 50% at best.

there are still people who believe that jewelry crafting is p2w because it requires the summerset chapter to even use the tables lol (i think this was one of the first ever p2w arguments i remember for this game lol)

The number of times I've seen "p2W" thrown up as an argument against something here is pretty ridiculous. It's the ESO Forums' version of calling someone a...how do I say this without getting it zapped by a mod...how about "1940's German national socialist".

Yeah, personally, I am all for this unbreakable lockpick. Makes my life a hell of a lot easier.

Personally, I wouldn't see it as a P2W item at all, just a convenience item. But there will 100% people who would feel this is P2W (though I question their understanding of what P2W actually is).

Now... if it gave an extra % chance which stacks with the passive on breaking open chest, then we are 100% talking P2W.

Idc how you cut it, slice it, dice it, or splice it. Everyone knows it's broken. It's unlike any % chance ever on anything. It fails way more often than it should.

The chance of failure on the each try is 20% or 0.20, and chances of sequential events are multiplied together so therefore the chance of failure 7 times in a row is… .2x.2x.2x.2x.2x.2x.2 = .0000128 = .00128% chance of my pick breaking 7x in a row.

Also, is it possible we can get a "Skeleton Key" please? I think most people would really want this.

.00128% is not 0%, it’s going to happen.

Well, no, it's not. Not to several people on multiple occasions.

    5x5x5x5x5x5x5x5 = big big number

If I was concerned about speedruns, I wouldn't leave it up to chance. I'd pick the locks every time. They don't take that long to do and it's an easy skill to practice.

Imagine the amount of life you could have back by not watching break break break break break break break. Also, it's not P2W. Also, also I mentioned an event ticket reward. That's free to everyone, there's no money involved.

You would still have to pick the lock, or force it open. Your lockpick just wouldn't break. Fixing the Locksmith passive is another issue. It doesn't seem to match the odds that it states it should be. 85%, or 80% really feels like 50% at best.
