They are bound, you do get duplicates, but I have not yet.

I don’t recall anyone saying that they got duplicates, which is why I asked. If for some reason they were intended to be bound, then they should all be unique.
Conversely, if they are not intended to be bound, then getting duplicates indicates a bug.
EDIT: clarification

No. Because we have how many houses that need to be filled? Some of us like the books so we want one in each house. This dungeon is just going to be a 10 year dungeon to get everything from it. If anything, that's the bug. Getting duplicates is not a bug.

That is something I did not consider because getting a full and complete set of those books once would be nearly impossible for me. I guess I was also thinking they might be a collectible or something where you did not need to get more than one each. I have not seen any myself due to not having any group other than a random group finder group to even try to get them. Fake tank and fake healer leave after wiping on first boss and can never find guild mates to do a run.

You can add me. Same psn name... I will run you through enough to also do secret boss. I have done Scrivener's at least 75x. No lie! I have only gotten a handful of furnishings as well, so I see your point. It's going to take years to get all the furnishings. I am kind of burnt out on Scriveners. But, will help you at least key farm.
125 keys in, still zero book furnishings.
I now only do this dungeon if a guildie asks for help because the drop rates of these furnishings are, as many other things lately, beginning to feel like a big middle finger to the players. Not sure if that’s how ZOS wants players to feel about their content.
I know this is an old thread, but wanted to chime in with what other threads are finding with the new books in IA and other zone chests.
In order for the book to show up in the loot table at all, it first needs to be in that character's Eidetic Memory. That is, you need to have found the book previously in other ESO content (in the wild / on a bookshelf), on that character, and read it. I'm guessing this is why the books are BOP -- if they were tradeable, you could acquire a book you haven't previously read.

I suppose the only benefit is being able to target farm them this way—assuming you know which books each separate character has read, or unlocked Eidetic Memory on them all.
It's a nice idea, but it makes the gameplay here too complex and limiting.

i completelly agree, i mean it would be a different story if the furnishing would not be bound. i like the concept of rare items beeing available but thats just plain stupid.
@ZOS_Kevin i feel like you want to forward that to the dev team, make those damn banners and books unbound. Or atleast explain why they should be bound when the hall door vault is not. I never hear any explanations/clarifications from you, you probably wanna start with it?

I LOVE all the new book furnishings but I agree with the frustration at their being bound — it would be great to be able to exchange duplicates and for people not interested in housing to still have a valuable drop to exchange or sell.
I would have rather seen the book furnishings treat having read them rather like dungeon motif drops treat having completed hardmode — much more likely to drop, but not bound and not impossible to get otherwise.
@ElderOfTamriel to be fair, I have seen more explanations from @ZOS_Kevin than anyone else and he is undoubtedly limited by official policy as to which questions and exactly how he can reply.

that might be true in your case but as far as i experienced ive never received any valuable answer on ANY of my questions. I even opened a ticket and kindly asked if they might provide me some informations on rare furnishing items which i do collect, they have not answered 1 single question and just repeatedly said, that would only know developers and they do not respond to tickets. I can see that they have surely a lot of work and probably better things to do than answering tickets, but since only they know, they couldve forwarded my questions to them imo.
I asked about 5-6 questions which i gathered in the past year while collecting stuff and not a single one has been answered. Neither have i ever received an answer on the forum here when i tagged any of the moderators. I feel like i took the p*ss... i feel like they did not take me serious and thats very frustrating

This was indeed recently mentioned by @ZOS_Kevin in another thread about IA books.
However, as far as I can find, this was the first time it was ever mentioned that those books need to be in your Eidetic Memory in order for them to drop.
Scrivener’s Hall was released on pc on the 13th of March 2023. Meaning that the first time the information about prerequisites for drops was given nine months later. Meanwhile people had been running this dungeon more than fifty times in order to get those drops. Another example of a massive communication fail.

Glorious Upheaval
Lorebooks addon says it's RNG bookshelves from Shadowfen, but the ESO wiki says it's RNG books from Imperial City (PvP area) sewers.
For me it was in Imperial City Temple District. RNG bookshelf.

I hate to break it to you, but none of the 21 Scrivener's Hall books drop in IA. IA has it's own unique set of 65 bound book furnishings to collect.

That is not true. I have had the list of book for Scriveners for some time and only got 1 book from it while in there. I have since received or bought a few of the Scriveners books from the Archives.

They do not drop in IA but some have been available to purchase from Filer Ool, such as Memory Book 3 and Lord Hollowjack’s Dream Realm.
