Enforced Server Switch Penalty - End it Please

I find this enforced 3 minute wait imposed by the developers to a seriously aggravating quality-of-life de-buff on those of us who play both servers actively. Please revert this unnecessary and onerous change or have the courtesy to explain why you are making your customers jump through hoops to play the game they are paying for.

I agree. I have three accounts, play both servers equally, swap through numerous characters on a daily basis. It's extremely annoying.

it seems like a safeguard to prevent issues with the crown store tbh.

assuming that is the case, no compelling argument can be made to change this.

I agree. To keep from being boring I now play on EU where I had nothing and was starting anew. I get up and leave the board during this most annoying wait. It is sometimes a long time before I go back.

Please do away with this wait time as the loading screens have become in general a long wait.

I agree, it's a pain. It may only be 3 minutes but that's every time you switch servers. Even a single wait is irritating when you're in the middle of a gaming session.

We should be given a fuller explanation if it can't be dropped.

    @ZOS_Kevin Any comments please?

crown purchase and balance may not update frequently enough to allow less than a 3 minute timer. This as a huge vulnerability that can allow either double purchasing or infinite crowns if the safeguard was not in place. A lot goes on behind the scenes and it's hard to imagine that something like this is arbitrary.

Huh. I suppose - I've never paid any attention, but then I normally don't make crown purchases on both servers that fast. However, there was no delay for years, so....

And actually, I've never bought crowns on both servers back to back - I buy on whatever server I'm on when crowns go on sale, because they're available on both immediately anyway.

This is a strange theory. Has any person from ESO honchos posted anything like this or is it just speculation?

Why not put a 3min slow down just on the crown purchases then on the login, why interrupt the vast multitude of players from playing?

Yeah, it is. And no one from ZOS has addressed this ever AFAIK - but they're all off finishing up CES or whatever in Vegas right now.

Hi All. As noted previously, we want to provide an update on the next steps toward getting Crown Crate gifting back online on PC. We currently have a prospective fix currently being tested. Once testing concludes, we will schedule a date for the fix's deploy ASAP. This fix will also include a configuration change that lowers the login timer when switching between NA and EU (or EU and NA) realms back to what it used to be. We will follow up with an update next week to update on our progress here. Thank you for your continued patience.

to the OP @CMz this reply from Kevin indicates that the 3 minute timer is to be reduced.

Well, Kevin says it will be reduced back to what it used to be - it didn't exist before, there was no login timer on switching servers. So which is it please, @ZOS_Kevin, is the login timer being reduced or removed?

As I recall, there has been mention of a timer in the past. I don't have time to look it up to verify that, or find the length, if that was shared.

I expect that any Crown exploit would be bannable as soon as ZOS was made aware of it. If a bannable exploit was involved, ZOS would not comment, confirm, or deny.

As for why they did what they did... they grabbed some intern and had them put a finger in the leaking dam. Leak was stopped. Finger application successful. Sounds like the intern can soon resume a normal life.

I think there was, it was just so short you usually wouldn't notice, like 5 or 10 seconds at most.

Wouldn't Crown balance and purchasing be unique to each individual account? What's the overlap that would allow the Crown balance/purchase from one account to affect another?

I only have one account, so I'm genuinely curious. I always though each account was its own self-contained entity from top to bottom, regardless of the owner of said accounts, didn't think they shared anything.

In the same account, Crowns are shared on both EU and NA, so spending in EU reduces the available number of Crowns on NA. Personally, what is purchased should also be available on both EU and NA, but they did not do that.

This is not to do with different accounts, it relates to switching servers on the same account.
