Sharp-As-Night, possible abilities and wish list

I like to see Sharp-As-Night have more focus on defensives, heal over time, and damage over time abilities. The most plausible ability variants we are most likely see are Dive, Scorch, and Swarm; Fungal Growth, Healing Seed, and Nature's Grasp; Frost Cloak, Impaling Shards, and Arctic Wind; and Ultimate is probably Secluded Grove. The problem I have with most companion heals is they can only target you or them, not both. Most of the Warden's arsenal can get away with that healing themselves and another target. I like to see most of his heals target himself as a priority.

Think we have enough companions with abilities that do off-balance with the likes of Shadow Slash, Fiery Flail, and Gallant Blitz AOE. I like to see his version of Dive be more like Sun Brand, deals direct damage and damage over time. Whatever you have planned for Scorch, I hope it keeps the double hit mechanic, don't make it require a target to cast though. Swarm to be the spreading type where it deals high damage over time and deals lesser damage to nearby enemies.

His Fungal Growth would probably work like Mending Incantation, as a frontal AOE cone heal over time, I like him to cast it when he drops =< 50% health even when no players in front, but will cast it anytime a player is in target range. Healing Seed as Corrupting Pollen variant, no cast requirement if targets self when enemies nearby or at allies =< 75% health, AOE healing and reduces damage done by enemies caught in the field would make it unique compared to other companions, also fitting into his tanking arsenal. Nature's Grasp, Nature's Embrace version if at =< 75% health he would target the owning player, healing himself and you, while also bringing himself back into your range would be a welcomed change with the way companions are constantly roll dodging into Oblivion with ranged weapons.

Frost Cloak would be his standard 20% reduced damage taken ability, like Ritual of Salvation it would also extend to other friendly targets nearby. Unlike Ritual of Salvation I don't want it to be a ground effect, make it a buff effect so you can move away with it after it casts. Impaling Shards with Winter's Revenge variant, like Shocking Burst make it a ranged AOE cast ability. Arctic Wind, Polar Wind variant, his emergency heal at =< 50% health, healing himself and the owning player with a burst heal and heal over time.

Not a fan of melee oriented ultimate so I'm strongly against Sleet Storm, like with Bastian and Isobel I would keep it off his bar or never use it. I like a healing ultimate for a change, Secluded Grove would be perfect being ranged, a strong burst healing, and heal over time in an area.

Yeah that's the moveset I've pretty much worked out given their track record. However I don't expect them give Polar Wind, they probably stick to the base effect.

As for the ultimate, I doubt it's 1-1 Secluded Grove if they do choose to use that. The companions' ultimates so far as either been enemy skills (Blackwood companions) or variation of our skills (High Isle companions). As long it isn't some unnecessarily long cast time like Isobel, I probably be happy. Although it would fit him having a healing one.

Yeah as long as it heals only himself is more than fine. I hate Kindle and Quick Fix for Companion's survival wasting it on me or some uninvited rando. At least Fungal Growth is already self-targeting, Arctic Wind base works too for the same reason.

I wouldn't bet on shalks. They might be too difficult to implement. I think bird, flies and wings (resistance to AoE?) is more plausible.

Vines will probably just be minor lifesteal. Shrooms and flowers is a good guess.

I am uncertain about Winter's Embrace abilities. But I fear we will only get some form of the gate, the shield and the shards.

So far ults have been more damage oriented, so sleet storm is more likely to be the choice.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

Preview today shows him using Frost Cloak, Impaling Shards, and what looks to be a Kaguti Scorch.
