Lore Frustration/Discussion

First off, there needs to be a lore section in the forums... -_-
So, I was thumbing through the wiki and I keep finding things. TONS of races like the Imga and Lilmothiit that are "currently extinct but lived during the second era"

Second era... Isn't that right now? Kind of disappointed in how easily lore goes out the window. It's difficult enough to try and figure out what is going on because everything you've learned in Morrowind-Skyrim is just gone. Hasn't happened yet.

Well, where's the stuff that HAS happened? Where's all this mythical stuff that happened during the second era?

Reasons-For-War - Argonian Dragonknight - Ebonheart Pact
Pearl Winterstone - Orc Sorcerer - Ebonheart Pact
Jerro - Dunmer Nightblade - Daggerfall Covenant

    Look around, man.
Lore is all around you, you don't even know it.

But seriously - There's a ton of 'super-mystical' things going on, like the Brothers of Strife. I mean, if you want to see the NUMIDIUM walking down the street, or Vivec fighting his thousands of Daedra babies that he made with Molag, you're out of luck, but..

The game just only launched, and will likely be going for many, many years. Give the devs some time to add things in - there's a TON of lore, which means a TON of opportunities for additional content / expansions. As a whole, ESO is looking amazing. We're at a good start, and there's a lot of world to explore.

The subject of lore is always contentious in a franchise so vast as TES. The addition of the MMO element complicate things further (will you really read books in the wilderness with daedra spawning quickly around you?)

But I think we are good, so far. The game gives LOTS of nods to the previous TES games, and seems to understand and respect its heritage. Let's just not expect everything, from all different regions, to be ready during early launch week.

As a community, we should also steer ZMO into the directions we do want to see, and show them any mistakes they might (and will) make.

TESO is just a baby. Let's nurture it towards maturity, together.

The Second Era was very long... Most of the stuff happened years ago or hasn't happened yet. There's a reason why ESO is set in a mostly empty period of history - little interference with existing lore ensures that the devs aren't overly restricted in their storytelling. ESO isn't throwing lore out of the window. All things considered, it actually depicts it pretty decently.

Lilmothiit probably went extinct before the Akaviri Potentate ("The worst of the dungeons was constructed in the following era by Potentate Versidae-Shae on the ruins of the Lilmothiit community called Blackrose.")

Kothringi were wiped out by the Knahaten Flu. There's a book in ESO about their Crimson Ship (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Pirates_of_the_Abecean). There could still be some left deep in the Black Marsh, or survivors who fled, but we see only the edge of the province.

I don't know about Imga, they should be in the game - are there no mentions of them in any AD zone? Maybe they will be added later.
