The Mother Mercy costume looked really cool but

dyes don't apply to it well. It doesn't have three discernable layers to dye (the third layer is barely noticeable). And not being able to dye that shoulder piece really killed it for me. I tried to go with a purple and silver theme, typical for my necro, but that bronze colored shoulder piece sticks out like a sore thumb.

it does not, no. because it's not a collectable, it's treated as an armour style.

The loincloth also fits weird on my women, but it’s fine on my men (of various thicknesses, it doesn’t have to do with thigh diameter). The back curls in and the front juts out instead of acting like you’d expect with gravity.

On that note, I have the ring of wild hunt on one of my characters, and I discovered that when I slow her to a walk while wearing any costume with a longer loincloth piece, the loincloth juts out at a nearly right angle. An unexpected side effect that can be a bit amusing, but easily fixable unlike some of the outfit animation issues.

I just double checked, and the shoulder piece dyes perfectly fine on my end. It's only the gold trimming on it that can't be dyed.

I was delighted that it doesn't suffer from the inexcusable 'diaper butt' problem that the otherwise fabulous Timbercrow Wanderer costume does. That said, the loincloth on the Mother Mercy costume is too big/long - it looks like you are wearing a blanket down to your knees.

What I'm really hoping for is a fix for the Timbercrow Wanderer costume. Especially given how much blood or treasure it takes to get the darn thing.

I might be wrong, but I think that gold trimming is what the other poster was talking about. I think they wanted to color it silver for their purple/silver theme. 🙂

I still haven’t gotten the Timbercrow costume just for this reason. I really do hope they take take the time to fix it someday since it’s obviously a design flaw, not just an arbitrary change to the look of the costume that some might protest.

I wouldnt hold my breath for a fix on a costume. Buttons aren’t working in dungeons and PvP. And break free and block are broken….

But I do sympathize. Timbercrow could have been really nice.

I bought the costume… it’s fine… but I’m really glad it wasn’t too expensive. Some dyes work ok, most don’t work well. I’d skip even trying to dye the third slot— ideally that should have dyed ALL the gold parts, but it doesn’t, so changing it just looks weird. :(

If anyone is on the fence, I’d say it’s a skip.

It's 2000 crowns, which is the most expensive costume price range, which only a few costumes has been in. At that price costumes shall dye and fit well.

I do tend to agree that it sucks when you can't dye a particular part of a costume, especially when that particular part is a gold trimming. Not everything looks good with gold, and a lot of hair accessories are non-dyeable (they take the color of your hair. So if you have brown hair, it's going to look bronze). :(

On a slightly related note, I hope we will have dyeable accessories as one of the quality of life fixes later on this year.

So many items have sections that can't be dyed now. I have several hats that have large chunks of undyable areas that I'd love to use, but can't make to match my gear.
Would like more dye paths overall again on items and an in-game way to see the dye paths so I stop buying things I don't use because it's stuck brown (or whatever).

Agreed concerning the dyes. I also wish that there was an option to turn the "bikini" top off for male characters. It would have been an amazing shirtless option for males.

I get that there are those who enjoy it as it is on their male characters, and I'm 100% ok with that, it's just not the style I'd like for mine, and I'd love an optional shirtless male version.

Getting the feeling is not good enough for the extra expense. Its more than one sub.

Nice try, but try harder next time please.

The apron flap makes no sense at all.... Yes, more effort required next time.

I don't have a fresh screenshot but at least I can describe the channels:

    1. Apron, upper arm and bracer. (everything purple above)
    2. The sections inside the undyeable metal areas in the chest, shoulder, sash and bracers. (everything green above)
    3. All leather straps, including the belt holding the apron, the sandals and the two straps that are on the bracers. (everything brown above)

All the metal frame areas that are golden are undyeable, such as the belt buckle, chest, shoulder and bracer.

Yes, it doesn't reflect well on their art department to have a suit bottom that clearly defies the laws of physics. There is no way that any piece of cloth would conform to the hind structure in that manner unless it were glued on... and the incongruency is what also creates the shaved bottom look for Khajiits.

There are some costumes that have a shirtless version (like Dark Shaman) for male characters, and a braed (bra'd?) version for female characters. It's unknown why they refuse to do so for other costumes, like the Timbercrow and now this new one. If they were somehow willing to fix the diaper and remove the sports bra on the Timbercrow costume for male characters, it would look great, and I would definitely use it.

I don't like the way it looks on male characters. The top (in my view at least) is designed for a female. I would have preferred the male version to not have a 'bra' top. Perhaps a thin band instead. I also agree that for 2000 crown, you should be able to dye all parts and use the hide shoulder feature. The apron front and back are a little long for as much as the other parts are less. I haven't purchased this time around for these reasons. I really wanted for my male characters but its just too feminine for that purpose.

Completely agree. I still bought it anyway since it fits my half-dunmer character who grew up in Morrowind, but I'd like it way more without the bra top.

The lore of this game as opposed to my sensibilities IRL that would never wear such a thing is that male followers would wear this, so I try to look at it this way.
