Yeah, crown store stuff should be less expensive, and there shouldn't be crown crates, and there should be more cosmetics in-game that you can earn by playing the game's content, in fact the majority of cosmetics should be available in-game without an external purchase. Things like outfit slots should be account wide and not locked to the character you bought it on, and probably shouldn't cost crowns in the first place because you can do the same thing with a pen and a piece of paper (you're just paying for a convenience feature for in-game dress-up). New houses should be purchase-able with gold. Vampire bites, ww bites, the cures to those bites; they shouldn't be in the cash shop at all since they're free in-game, thus these and several other cash shop features prey on newer players to make the purchase.
There's lots of changes that should be made to the game, which involves the cash shop. things that would make the game WAY better. Would they make as much money as they currently do off the cash shop if they did all the changes I mentioned? Probably not, but they'd definitely see tons more players and more players playing the game for longer, since these changes would increase game retention and player favorability of the game. They'd probably make as much money as they currently do, and have a genuinely healthier game that will last longer than the current game will, and would avoid the inevitable bad press that might come with more countries banning bad game practices, like loot boxes.
Yes, game with an initial box price, new dlcs couple times a year, chapters costing another full box price every year and a semi-mandatory sub on top should have way more affordable currency and preferably without extra hoops like gems, crowns etc. but an actual dollar/euro tag to it. (To avoid "oh, pack is 50c less than you need, so buy a second one" or "you're having a leftover that is here but you can't spent it because it's small, so buy another one" thingy)
No gambling boxes, just direct purchases of small fraction of things that should go into the base game instead in a way of rewards for doing content. Or make base crowns earnable same way as endeavours, maybe tied to toughness of encounters for making it still "premium".
The way it is set up right now is called predatory, there's no other word for it.
