Please remove "Convert to Imperial/Morag Tong Style" from the context menu

These options in the context menu over an item are not longer usable from there, isn't more user friendly to just remove them?

It is awkward that the conversion options don’t function, but I have wondered if it has to do with the advertisements for the Imperial and Morrowind editions that explicitly promised the ability to “convert” gear into the styles.

There are problems with removing an explicitly advertised feature after people have bought the product, or changing it so it is no longer recognizable. Instead, they have left the term in and explained how the “conversion” feature works now. They’re presenting it as a change in how the feature is implemented but indicating that they’re still providing what was advertised. If they remove the language, then nothing in game tells people how to access the feature they bought, since it wouldn’t be clear that ZOS is now considering free outfit station application to be “conversion.” It’s certainly a very different implementation from before and not what the term typically means, so it may be necessary for them to include the new language.

If that's the case I think a better fix would be to change the adverts to say the collectors editions let you use those styles for free, rather than explaining how it used to work then having that system redirect to the new one.

If necessary they could send a mail to everyone who currently has them, explaining how it works now so I'll be told next time they log in.

As I understand it functioned but only on non set gear like generic flame staff (Argonian style).
It did not work on set items like mother sorrow flame staff who was Argonian because the set is.
As in how relevant is non set gear? over pretty bad overland sets.
Not sure if it can convert crafted sets but this has also very low usability, yes I can see some crafting a set for an new player who converts to Imperial who crafter did not know back then we had veteran ranks.

That’s my point - formally changing the language of an advertisement after selling a product could easily be construed as an acknowledgment that you are no longer providing what you advertised but something different. It is bound to invite scrutiny on a number of levels to remove an explicitly advertised paid feature after people have paid for it. The change itself did not sit well with many here, but at least keeping the word “conversion” lets them stand by their advertising, at least nominally.

What they might be able to do is shift the explanation of conversion to the Help menu. That would keep it in game, keep the “conversion” term, and remove the context menu options that only explain how you can’t use those context menu options to do what they say.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with how it was advertised.

I am pretty sure I have dozens of programs and even physical things which have been updated, completely changing their operation from how they were initially advertised. I have a hard time thinking of a phone that didn't have some of the updates change any of its initially advertised functions.

... In fact, if we follow this logic, then we would have still been stuck with veteran points and 1T wouldn't have happened, because both veteran points and zone levels have been mentioned in advertisements before.

I ordered *with* the option to convert items.
But I don't care, and I doubt anyone does, used it maybe twice.
