Thank you so much for this week's weekly endeavours. They are so sensible given we have an event eating into our time to play and also a maintenance. I loved the particular 25 quests endeavour. Many thanks.

I agree! It is truly a pleasure to simply play as normal this week and see which of three weekly endeavors pops as complete first.

I find harvesting mats relaxing (which is why I avoid the term "farming"), so one of the endeavors won't be a task, but a pleasure. That being said, I was surprised to see another one that's easy to accomplish, the one requiring completion of 25 quests. Nicely done!

Shoulda ran Maelstrom on normal. Took about a half hour or so to get through for the Endeavour points, plus I got the Maelstrom DW sword and mace to boot.

First I read the collect 100 nodes and thought "uhn, I am going to get more than enough surveys to do that".
Then I read the 25 quests one, and... well, 4 sets of writs later, it was done.
    Loved it.

Who was the obvious fallback, now you could run lots of RND (random normal dungeons) during double XP event.
Or more stupid go to Imperial City on Tuesday trying to farm bosses, downside is that IC was at population cap, lots of fun PvP but not very efficient farming bosses. Moved to No CP who was much more productive, did an second IC run Saturday who solved the issue as we did all the quest and killed plenty of bosses.

Who is an point for the PvP event, stock up some quests for Cyrodil and IC first couple of days will be crazy and it might be days you can not play much but handing in quests take seconds.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I was relieved to see easy ones as well. I only have 4 evenings at home this week (assuming the maintenance doesn't run over) and a lot of other stuff to get done in that time, so I won't have much time for ESO. Luckily I've finished everything I wanted to do with the jesters festival (bought the broom, bucket and hide shoulders and got back to 11 tickets) and I have some crafting surveys saved up so hopefully I'll be able to get 100 resources. If it was like last week I'd just have to forget about doing it.

I looked at last weeks and decided to skip it- "6 dungeons? Screw that!".... then ended up getting really hyped about a build and ran one dungeon 40 times in 3 days to farm a set.

the 25 quest one actually made me go back and do some zone dailies, got some motif chapters i had been missing since they were newer ones lol

i greatly dislike normal daily writs so i dont do them and would have been faster for me to kill 20 WB otherwise lol

The mechanics of the fight still need to be followed with Oakensoul. It can actually sometimes be easier to complete the ice stage by doing less damage, depending on the player. Years ago, when I first completed vma, I was stuck on the ice stage for weeks because the mechanics were tough to discern. Once I started controlling my burn, I never had trouble with it again. I think that's one of the tougher stages as far as first clears go.

So, I definitely think the arena was probably a tough ask for a lot of players unfamiliar with it. This week, in comparison, is a breath of fresh air to a lot of players, most likely.

That was the part where I got stuck too. And yeah, after all the "lol Maelstrom is so easy, you could fall asleep on the keyboard and you'd finish it" hyperbole the only bit of useful advice I finally got is using my DD character almost certainly meant I was doing too much damage which made it harder. (Which is very weird for me, normally my DPS is too low.)

I keep meaning to go back on my tank with her open-world build and see if it's any easier.

I'd normally do that one too, in fact it's my favourite weekly endeavour, but this time I'm just letting my daily writs do the work because I'm having a busy week at work. Just tomorrow's writs to do and the weekly endeavour's done.

If I had more days at home I'd do the quests, especially since the Anniversary event is starting soon.

It's not so much that you need to bring a tank. It's that the boss in that stage does it's mechanics at different hp thresholds. So it's a lot easier to defeat the add she summons and pay attention to the troll you need to interrupt, if you're not also running for your life because she's breaking the ice flow.

So it's easier to beat up her a little until she summons adds. Kill the adds. And THEN push her to the point she walks towards the center to break the ice sheet.

It's easy to keep her out of those thresholds by just not putting dots on her.

Oh yeah I know I don't need a tank, I just want to see how different it is. I normally play either DD or a healer who is fairly squishy but can usually out-heal the damage, so when I play my tank I'm often surprised at what she can manage just by absorbing or blocking the damage while slowly chipping away at the enemy, there's a lot of things I can do on my DD but find surprisingly easy on tank, like soloing the Nirncrux mines in Craglorn.

I wouldn't want to play everything that way because I'm one of those weird people who enjoys overly complicated builds and tactics, but that means sometimes it's fun to see how different it is.
