Just got back from a small hiatus, seeing as the server upgrade FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY is happening.

I hopped on my main, and used mist form because I knew it got changed.

I really like the principle and idea behind the new mist form, it really touched on a sore point vampires had, an escape, and it synergises very well with lvl 4 vampirism perks. However, it hits far from the mark because the ability itself is incredibly janky.

You are sort of in a stunned state when you use it, and cannot cancel the attack or attack really at all, and since it no longer guards from melee attacks, you are just standing there for the slaughter until the animation is gone. On top of that, you can not navigate left or right, or at all during the navigation, but for some reason you can during the period which you are locked into the animation, but not benefitting from mist form really at all. It would be far more fluid, and natural feeling if you could navigate during the entire time of the animation, and as an added bonus, it would no longer be kind of a knock off of streak.

Lastly, the animations. They are so poorly done, my wife thought my game was bugging when I used blood mist. The mist itself is not "actually" there , is the best way i can describe it. The animation itself flickers the entire time, as if bugging with terrain. The actual animation is oooookay, but it needs some stability fixes. Elusive mist has an ok animations, but again, suffers from the jankyness far more than blood mist, since one will be used mostly for escaping / mobility, and one for attacking.

Anyone else feel this way? Like if you could port forward, but change your direction mid dash, so you could arch around corners for example, instead of straight line 90 % of the animation, and nothing for the other 10, that would be fantastic, and unique.

    Blood Mist AoE segment visually is bllod puddle not blood mist, not sure if it's a subject to game graphics settings but that's how it looks like for me.

    The teleporting animation and it's aftercast animation could use some speed ups indeed.

    Personally I would also like to see it's damage upped to match similar abilities. Cloak of Blades, lightning form, and it's morphs, all deal more damage per same 2s tick, while also providing strong secondary effects.

    Wouldn't mind changing damage type from magic to physical, but that's just my personal whims wanting all the skills I use to benefit from my sorc passives ;)

    Yeah blood mist sort of flickers for me, i dont know if its just the area im in or what, but its not pretty.

    I did notice however that if you aim at the ground and use mist form you CAN navigate around corners immediately. So maybe worth looking at. The animation lock needs to be yeeted from existence though, it feels really janky.

    I didnt understand the massive damage nerf either, I just came to terms with them having someone on their team who hates vamps :D

    (bare in mind that i am pretty much a purely pve player here) i think the skill has potential, but i think the blood mist morph should essentially be a different skill.

    teleports and mobility tools like this new mist form aren't really useful in pve besides the fun factor of being able to move fast, so i think i would remove that functionality from the blood mist morph (it's a bit awkward trying to use the skill in a rotation since you need to account for teleporting wherever you're looking whenever you cast it) and instead double down on it being a DoT like blade cloak and hurricane. i would of course raise the damage to be more in line with those skills (and maybe add something else? maybe the healing is enough of a secondary function, i dunno), and we could have a legitimately useful skill to make being a vampire worthwhile as a dps in pve

    Not a bad idea, it could even be target based.

    In a PvP and pve sense both are mid ATM, with lots of potential.

    If blood mist got a bit more of a boost, and elusive less janky, we'd be on a good path ^^
