Instead of single-use dyestamps, let them be consumables that let us "learn" those colours

I know this suggestion is probably anathema to the accounting department, but if we can spend 40 gems to unlock emotes that we can use infinitely, and earn achievements that unlock dyes we can use infinitely, why shouldn't spending 400 crowns on a dyestamp unlock those colours permanently in our outfit palettes?

Agree completely. Put it in our palette. Have a second palette for colors bought this way, give us another collection to work on and a reason to buy them ;)
For the cost, should not be a single use item, and if you then change the color of that item from the dye color then you lose it forever.
At the very least, if you change the colors it should revert back to a thing that you can use again on another item, should not lose it entirely.

yeah, I would've bought like 90+% of the holiday colors if it worked like this.

I'd buy so many of them if they. were one time purchases. With the poor lighting in game, spending crowns on something that looks completely different when you apply it makes no sense.

I’m honestly surprised this isn’t the case. I used to think it was and then tested it. They could make so much money if they sold dyes. But given it’s one of the few cosmetics we can earn via achievements, maybe it’s for the best.

The colors in the dyes though you can't get ingame. They are just a little bit brighter.
I know I bought the red and white ones that come out around Canada day. The white is brighter and whiter than any of the game earned dyes, so is the red. So I have a costume or two in those dyes that I wear just around that day every year but I really wish we kept the colors in our palettes.

Like others, I would buy so many more of them if that were the case.

A lot of the holiday and event dyes look REALLY nice. I'd back this.

I have never used a dye stamp. I always trash the ones that I’ve gotten via leveling because a color that can only be used once is of no value whatsoever for me. I change colors of my outfits and my costumes all the time. And while the dye stamp colors might be individually pretty, I don’t necessarily want to use those three together.

So yes, I think your suggestion is terrific!

I'm still dirty that when I was a newb I spent crowns on these things because I thought it was the only way to dye costumes. I kicked myself when I realised that dying costumes came free with my sub.

I'd buy the exclusive colours if they were available. I agree they shouldn't sell the normal dyes which are available from achievements, but it would be nice to get the crown store exclusive ones.

I've never bought dye stamps and unless they change how they work I never will. I was actually planning to buy several when they were first announced, but that's because I misunderstood how they worked. I thought they were like the various service tokens and would let non-subscribers dye a costume the same way subscribers can, with 1 stamp paying to dye 1 costume. When I found out you're restricted to the colours the stamp comes with I gave up on the idea because that's completely useless to me.

I don't know how many people are in a similar situation but I do know I've talked to far more people who never buy dye stamps or only bought them because they misunderstood how they work (then regretted it) than people who knowingly choose to buy them, and those who do only buy specific ones.

So I don't think it would be a guarenteed loss of money for ZOS, they might actually make more selling the dyes as permanent unlocks than they do selling them through stamps.

But how is this poor multimillion dollar company supposed to make a living??? They need to put polymorphs at a 8000 crowns price tag, refuse to implement a pity system into crown crates, have endeavor gains be too little to get a single radiant apex in 3 months and make armory and outfit slots at 1500 crowns each per character! Have you no heart?
