New playable race suggestions and ideas

There are lots of human and elven playable races in the game but not enough monster races. Currently, the only two playable monster races are kahjiits and lizards.

How about harpy:
I have this idea that harpies should be a playable race. Harpies will be petty fun to customize with the wings, colorings, talons, and other bird-like features. They can also fly and attack at the same time, have gliding, and an immunity to crowd control passive abilities.

What other humanoid monster races should be playable?

Are harpies even sentient in Elder scrolls? Goblin would be more likely. Or giant.
If (big IF) they ever added more playable races, Sea Elves and Dremora are the most likely.

Nope, no new races. Certainly NOT harpies. In fact, not any of the current list of adversary races.

New races would need to come from the next Bethesda single player game - that would be TES VI. If it ever happens.

They aren't going to make armor models on any new skeleton frames, if you notice every existing race uses the same skeleton even Khajiit and Argonian. Any race to become playable needs to fall in line so no Harpy, Minotaur, Naga, or such creatures.

What's with this obsession about adding new races? It doesn't matter when you log into the forum there is alway someone suggesting to add a new race. In games where class choices are locked for certain races, adding new races with new available class options somewhat makes sense as they can offer you a new experience of the game. ESO doesn't have that. You will have to play another Sorcerer, Nightblade, Templar, Dragonknight, Warden, Necromancer or Arcanist with that new race and all that's different will be 3 passives that can't be very impactful anyway for balance reasons.

So in essence, it will be a lot of work for something that is just a cosmetic option with minimal changes to your gameplay (if any). And even those minimal changes can only be that diverse if it will end up being in the format of 2000 max stat + 258 weapon/spell damage + resistance in most cases.
So why not just ask for a new cosmetic? Cosmetics aren't exactly canon to the lore (even if crownstore items have "lore"), so that's a whole lot easier to implement and does the exact same thing. Or can you come up with a plausible reason why the Aldmeri Dominion is letting Maormer join their ranks en mass, without ruining currently existing quests? Trying to add Daedra or Harpies is going to be even more trouble than that. And if you think they wouldn't make you pay for a new race but they would make you pay for a cosmetic, have a look at the Imperials again.

Just leave adding new races to the single-player games and ask ZOS for some new cosmetics. I'm sure they will be happy to sell them to you and the odds of getting what you wanted are higher. After all, you might end up not liking harpy/daedra racial passives if they come out.

maormer, reachfolk, more bipedal khajiit furstocks, and naga argonians are the only races that would make sense as there's non player characters from those races that are seen using gear that we use and actually having variation like different skintones/hair/voices and wearing costumes and adornments.

    reachfolk are bretons physically though

harpies? really? how would they wear armour or use weapons?

at least goblins are seen using armour, weapons, and sometimes even using our language. but i think the most we'll get is polymorphs for goblins.

people often say they want daedra
whilst humanoid daedra look awesome, most daedra do not care about Nirn to want to involve themselves with its problems nor could i see them being the Vestige.

some people say they want minotaurs and i've even seen sloads suggested but like harpies they dont have the same skeleton as any of the player races.

if they werent extinct other races that would work are chimer, ayleid, falmer, dwemer, aldmer, and kothringi.

the Lilmothiit would be nice to see in a future black marsh dlc if they arent really extinct. that would be nice to play as though likely more difficult than the first races i mentioned as those have been in the game for years now
