As you craft, you gain "inspiration"(Read: Experience). That inspiration gets your crafting level higher.. which allows you to put skill points in crafting and increase your effective capacity as a crafter.

During beta it was explained to me as an increase to the exp you get when deconstructing an item.

Inspiration Points are "currency" that is used to level professions. You always get Inspiration points when making, breaking down, and upgrading anything in your desired profession.

What the "Increase Inspiration gained from extraction" Trait means that when you extract ore you get more points towards leveling up than you would when you were not wearing said item(s). It allows for quicker leveling of your desired profession. I honestly would keep these pieces as they would allow for quicker leveling.

Huh, I figured it meant the inspiration gained from extracting from the item itself was increased. Sort of like the price buff one.

It increases the experience you get from extraction.
Extraction is when you destroy a crafted item in order to get more crafting materiel - and it also gives you experience (inspiration is also known as crafting exp.)

Actually, and i could be completely wrong..... but it gives you extra exp when you extract from that particular item. I would like to see a dev clear this up... but i'm pretty sure its only that single item.

I guess I saw it like the "Ornate" trait... as a "trash trait" that wasn't designed to be a "permanent use" trait. Since the name is "Intricate", that implies its design is a bit more complex than normal... thus supporting the "single use when deconstructing this item" theory.. but it would still be nice to hear a dev say for sure.

I agree I would like to see a dev clear this up. Maybe it is my inner SWG crafting coming out in me, but I would love to have crafting sets, but that is just me.

It definitely means that you will get X% more inspiration (experience) for deconstructing that particular item.

It is NOT a general boost to deconstructing experience gains (I.e. there are no "crafting sets")

Sorry haha but by level 10, I had gloves, boots, jack, pants, a sword, and a shield each intricate with over 20% increase to inspiration through extraction. I don't think a level 10 would get 120% increased experience gains lol.

It is definitely just a "one-time" thing like Ornate :P

So what you're saying is that its basically like the enchantment for smithing in skyrim, you have to wear said piece in order to create more powerful gear, only in this case it allows you to level up your crafting more quickly?

It is definitely just a bonus for deconstructing that item. Wearing an item with that trait will have absolutely no effect on any other deconstruction you do.

Oh I tried that when I first started crafting too. had two weapons with 51% and several armor pieces with 21-27% but then I noticed well I should be getting almost 200% increase.. and im not.
So as you have gathered its just an experience gain of that percentage to the experience you would gain for deconstructing that item normally.

Why? Oh why bring back this post from the dead??
You get slightly more insiration when extracting materials from this one item. Dont wear it. Deconstruct it!
Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
