Wrothgar Dailies (WB, Delve) do not cycle properly between the possibilities

Most other Dailies for WBs and Delves, in most other DLCs and Chapters, cycle between the six possibilities (for a Large DLC/Chapter zone) on a consistent basis. This happens in Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood and High Isle.

However, the Wrothgar ones appear not to do so. The quest giver for Delves (the guy in the Morkul stronghold) has offered the SAME daily delve - Argent Mine, which I already completed - three times in five days. The WB guy (in the inn just north of Orsinium) demanded the same WB two days in a row.

This is not usual behaviour. Is this deliberate or accidental? And if it is deliberate, please can it be changed so that Wrothgar works like the rest?

I agree, I'm waiting for Zthenganaz and Watcher's Hold daily for 2 weeks already

It’s been a long time since I have done these dailies, but I remember that the delve daily quest givers have another quest somewhere in the zone that you have to complete before they show up in the buildings where you pick up the delve dailies. If you do not do these quests then they are not there to give out that particular delve daily.

As for the world boss dailies, I am not sure what would cause them to give out quests that are out of turn in the cycle.

I think you are right, but then again I get dailies from places I never visited with the current character

@katanagirl1 - No, that's only true of the Clockwork City ones, where you have to do the quest inside the delve before it can show up in the rotation for the daily delve (so, initially, the daily delve quest giver has no quests for you at all).

Summerset has a weirdness because one of its Delves is in Artaeum, and I believe that one doesn't show in the queue until you've unlocked Artaeum by doing the first Summerset quest and actually got there through the portal at the Keep of the Eleven Forces (getting there by teleport-to-player doesn't work).

With Wrothgar, same as with all other zones, it's the other way around - the quest giver directs you to a delve, or a world boss, regardless of whether you've been there before. In all of Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, I was able to mark off all six in six days on the main character. And it even had the same rotation (though starting from a different point) for my other characters.

So Wrothgar is the only exception, because it appears to be random rather than having a cycle at all.

The explanation might be as simple as time and experience. It seems like with the earliest DLCs, the devs were still figuring out what worked and what didn't, and the best ways to do things.

For instance, in Hew's Bane the delve and WB dailies are given out on alternating days by the same NPC-- you can either get a delve daily or a WB daily, depending on what day it is, but not both types on the same day. In later DLCs there are two different NPCs for that, and you can pick up both types on the same day.

Also, in Hew's Bane-- as in the other "smaller zone" DLCs (as opposed to the "chapter" DLCs)-- there are only two delves and two WBs, so alternating between them lets the cycle of dailies be stretched out into four days. In the newer "smaller zone" DLCs, I think the cycle is still four days, but since there are only two delves and two WBs, and you can pick up both types of dailies on the same day, there are multiple versions for each delve or WB. "Today we want you to go retrieve some arrows from Meridia's temple." "Okay, today we want you to go back to Meridia's temple, but this time we want you to recover some research notes."

IIRC, Rich said that they "hit gold" with Orsinium, or words to that effect. They saw that they'd come up with something that worked really well, so it became a sort of template or guide if you will for Morrowind and the other "chapter" DLCs-- except Orsinium was basically still just the experimental prototype of sorts, hence certain things might not be as structured and organized as they are in the later "chapter" DLCs.

What I am saying is that if you don’t do a certain prerequisite quest, a different one than the dailies, that the quest giver won’t even show up to give that daily. I am fairly certain of this because I remember the details and believe that I had an issue just like this when I completed the zone. I don’t remember anything about Clockwork dailies to be honest.

I will have to test this out on my main character and ones that have not done any Wrothgar quests to see if there is a difference.

EDIT: for clarity, there are multiple quest givers in the same location (same building) in Wrothgar and each one gives a different daily from what I recall

This is NOT true of Wrothgar. As I said, it is only true of the Clockwork City, where each of the (two) delves has to be "enabled" for its (three possible) dailies by doing the regular, one-off quest inside the delve itself.

In Wrothgar, this is demonstrably not the case. All six delve dailies, and all six world boss dailies, are available from the start - albeit you have to go to different buildings for each one. There is a single quest giver for Delve dailies, in Morkul Stronghold's longhouse, and a single quest giver for World Boss dailies, in the inn just north of Orsinium.

Each of the two buildings ALSO contains NPCs who can OPTIONALLY be talked to, for more information about the daily quest: and it is these NPCs, rather than the original quest giver, to whom one must report to finish the quest - but they're all in the same building with the single quest giver.

(This is a slight difference from Vvardenfell, where you actually pick up the dailies in the Hall of Justice, but have to report them back to someone in either St Delyn or St Olms Canton - the WB quest rewarders are all in one canton, the Delve quest rewarders are all in the other.)

In both Wrothgar and Vvardenfell, you can be assigned any and all of the dailies for any and all of the world bosses OR delves, before having ever discovered the delve or world boss in question. Indeed, getting the daily quest is usually your first motivation to actually go and discover the delve or world boss (and, in the case of a delve, do that delve's one-off quest.)

There are some dailies that have to be "unlocked" in some zones or the quest giver won't talk to you. Wrothgar is not one of those zones. As I pointed out in the original post, I *am already* getting daily quests from both quest givers: the trouble is that a couple of them are not appearing at all, while others are being repeated over and over.

In Wrothgar there are 6 delve dailies, I just checked on my main character.

There is one Job Broker the guest givers are Menninia, Thazeg, Raynor Vanos, Nednor, Arushna, and Sergent Oufa. (Sergent Oufa is in Orsinium and Arushna is just outside the front door).

On a character that has no zone completion for Wrothgar there are two questgivers there in Morkhul Stronghold, only Menninia and Thazeg.

Keep on saying what you will, if you have not unlocked all of the delve dailies by doing the prerequisite quests for them to show up there you cannot get that daily quest.

Well how come it has happened that I have done delve dailies from Morkul and been sent to places that I had *not* previously unlocked on that character, or completed its quest on that character?

The two quest givers that were there for my character with zero zone completion should be able to give those daily quests but not the ones for the other four questgivers. I can’t remember if you get a repeat or if there is just not a daily available for that case. That way they have something to do until they have more zone completion.

4 of the 6 wrothgar delves don't have any prerequisite for the daily, but the other two do. If you haven't met the prerequisite, it will give you one of the other delve quests.
Summerset also has a delve daily with a prerequisite (the one on Artaeum) but that one I think just doesn't give you a quest at all if you haven't met it.
