Maormer/Sea Elves Playable or Polymorph

I think it would be interesting to be able to play as a maormer or even have it as a polymorph i've spent several hours on this game and have always wanted to play as one so far all i can do is come up with outfits using the syrabanic marine, dreadsails, pyandonean motifs while using artic rime and oracle eyes. There has been so much new lore and quests tied to the maormer in recent dlcs since summerset and zos constantly teasing some hidden maormer npcs in southern elsweyr and blackwood, if the race is too game breaking than perhaps a polymorph would do just fine? + not all maormer are evil. Hope zos sees this and takes in consideration that some of the community has been asking for this race/poly for a while now. Thanks for reading. (add snow elf polymorph for my gf) :)

A polymorph would be neat. You can already turn yourself into a dremora or a robot and no one bats an eye, so why not a Maormer. A race would require balancing, the appropriate NPC reactions, etc, so I doubt ZOS will do that anytime soon. For now the closest thing is that 'Maormer fish' skin from crown crates.

Polymorphs in their current form aren't customizable at all. I currently use them to role-play non-playable races, but it's an imperfect solution.

What we would need in this regard is customizable racial polymorphs to overwrite our playable race appearance-wise, but I honestly don't see that happening. Too much work for likely not enough profit on their end.

You'll probably need to settle for a close approximation using character cosmetics like I did.

I ratther have a good skin (not just a few scale here and there) than a polymorph. Those are bad for character custumisation due to not being able to change the appearance. A race would be the best scenario

polymorph would be bad, there would be 0 customisation and all "maormers" would be clones

With the Maormer stuff we got, I'd love to make a Maormer character. I even have his concept built out already, but I'm still struggling with how he's supposed to look.

Best I have right now is a Dunmer with Arctic Rime, but I'm not sold on it - he's still a bit short and still has an obvious Dunmer face. A true Maormer should come from an Altmer base.

While I'm not expecting a true Maormer race (but I wouldn't mind it...), I'd be plenty happy with just a skin that looked like Captain Siravaen's pearly silver skin that I could use. Also wouldn't mind having those finned ears as Adornments as well. I keep hoping that eventually we'll get something appropriate, but I just want something simple like that.

    Gotta say... DAYUM he fiiiiiiine!!!

Also... would have also loved to see Sea Elves as a playable race.

I agree with all skin or race options just knowing it would be tricky and time consuming to balance a race and polymorph was just my last resort haha the customization issue i would be sad about. But anything maormer like would do

You can get pretty close with Dunmer and the Oracle eyes, it's not quite the same as there is something a little off up close, but from a distance its... still bad.

I don't think these kinds of races should be playable, but it would be nice if they added polymorphs for them. Or maybe a new type of skin which doesn't just layer over your player's skin, but actually changes the shape of your ears, etc (like with Maormer).

There IS the guy in Blackwood who can turn you into a maormer, but it’s randomized and really annoying to do. I’m happy enough with mine, though he is too short and lacks the finned ears. I doubt we’ll ever get them as a playable race, as awesome as that would be.

maormer have more than one skin tone so a skin to cosplay as a maormer seems weird.
a polymorph would be similar, you'd just be cosplaying one nameless maormer.

currently the only way to "be" maormer is to be lucky with the blackwood npc that you can encounter randomly that sometimes turns your character into a maormer

maormer as a playable race would be amazing

I don't think it's likely, but I would love it if they introduced a playable Maormer race with the correct skin tones and finned ears. In the meantime, cosmetics will have to do.

My Maormer and others can be seen on the board below if you're looking for ideas: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/565915/show-off-your-non-playable-races/p1

It is very unlikely ESO will add any new playable races unless the main series does so first

The race would be amazing especially the skin tones and ears i really like how unique the ears are. a racial passive to be thought of could be shock resistance but i believe they actually carry lodestones to not be as affected by storms
