Zos can we please have hi-res texture pack?

Tired of looking at low res textures in 4k. Use AI upscaling and add an option for hi res textures in video options please. This has been a much requested feature over the years as hd and uhd become more common. Please consider. The games age is showing with dated graphics.

Some textures are good, but there is a lot of low resolution ones. Graphics is important at catching players attention.
Also resolution scaling would be nice.

Eso need new engine, not HD textures. Small claustrophobic locations looks worse then 2000 y.o MMOS

Ever since beta, there was one thing I always hated about eso....

When you walk up to someone and 3 second later the higher res textures pops in....it always broke immersion for me. To mitigate this, I just zoomed out on the camera. It's one of the reason why I never play first person. It can be on ultra and the game still does it. I know it's for performance but still...I never liked that...

@ZOS_Kevin how many signatures would we need to convince you to bring the request to the people who can make this a reality?

There is an addon for that. Votans Advanced Settings. You can force the game to always load maximum texture resolution and many more things to customize it for your personal preference. Most settings are CPU heavy however.

    \Elder Scrolls Online\live

    UserSettings.txt:
    From:
    SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "0"
    To:
    SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "-3"

You will no see any Texture Quality settings in-game under Graphics settings, but it will be high textures. Changing it in-game will disable the setting. Here's a UESP tweet about the setting:

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

yes, but the highest resolution textures available are often very poor quality, low res, which looks bad

ESO textures can look bad only if you play first person. And since I doubt very much that you play in first person, so high-quality textures will not help much.

ESO needs new engine, or at least new shaders/effects/RTX/other cool story "10% better graphics, 500% more system requirements" stuff.

A high res pack won't change the differences between the blurry and the detailed textures. The differences between them would be still as strong as they were before, even with double the resolution/texel density.
When an asset (eg a rock) is placed in the world at 100% scale, it might look acceptable. The same asset is reused elsewhere and scaled to maybe 160% and it looks blurry in comparison to the 100% scaled assets.

But ofc it would look generally better.
