Can't gift gloomspore crates?

I can buy gloomspore crates but I can't gift them. Is this intended?
I can gift other items from the crown store and I have gifted crates many times before.

JavaRen✭✭✭✭✭Crate gifting is currently broken, somewhere around here there is a thread where ZOS says they know, are working on it, but it is unexpectedly complicated.1 -
