Requesting clarification: deletion of additional voice files from installation directory

Blue_Three
The installation directory for ESO includes voice files for English, German, and French. Each of these is 10+ GB large, so not exactly a small amount of disk space.

Is it safe—or at least not unrecommended—to delete the two folders "vo_de" and "vo_fr" (if one is playing the English language version)?

More importantly, will the files re-download either when a new patch drops or when repairing the game through the launcher?

I understand it's unlikely to break the game, but it would be awesome if we could get an official answer from Zenimax/the devs regardless. I've searched the forum and there's been contradictory statements especially re: the second point.

I only have the vo_en folder, and I don't download any other files or folders when I patch or repair.

This is my base install folder view

Looks like you removed the "game_mac" folder as well.

After deleting the two audio folders and running a repair scan, I can confirm that it doesn't download them again.

(Doing the "Verify integrity of game files" through the Steam client might be different, but I never use that.)

I don't use a mac and don't remember removing the folder, but meh .. I have no need for it anyway :)

I use stand alone client with the ESO launcher for patches; I've never run nor installed the Steam client. Entire install is approx 93.2GB.

That might be why. I got it through Steam and it includes these additional folders in the initial install (I'm not on Mac either).

And yes, I'm at exactly 93.2 too now.
