New activity finder timer not working properly?

According to the patch notes:
I did a daily random battleground and daily dungeon around 2am NA East coast time, but when I log into that character now, it says my daily has already been done. Should that not have reset with the update? Or does this mean that because of the change I now have to wait 28 hours to do daily randoms again on this particular character?
Many daily timers have been aligned to the same time as the Daily Login Reward (3am UTC for European servers and 10am UTC for North American servers), including:
Activity Finder’s First of the Day participations and wins
