Ping and dps

Let's talk about how much dps is realistic when you've got a ping that doesn't go any lower than 250 and stays around 300 for the most part. To the people who have bad ping, how much have you managed to score on a trial dummy, i.e., your highest parse. Is it possible to reach 90k?
Personally I can't seem to cross 55k (could reach 60 by avoiding overpen) with the dro'zakar bleed build that's supposedly capable of 100k. Consistent weaving is impossible as animations get stuck partway, skills don't fire when they should and even when they do, half the time it takes way too long, well after the metronome timer has ended. Trying to weave any faster than 0.3 makes the light attacks not register at all, getting completely skipped over.

IME, high latency does have an affect that you can literally feel.

Having said that, I'm playing from Sydney, AU and I can absolutely get over 90k. Its possible.

Is ping stable or not? If your ping is fixed 250 then it should be all right. If your ping jumping crazy then it is very unlikely that you can do good dps.

Also dps'ing with high ping is a bit harder, since you get desync (what happens on the server and what you see on the screen). In fact, it's like doing parse with your eyes closed.

I do not have access to PTS and my ping issues aren't the same as they've been years ago but having 250-300 (non spiking, pretty stable) were always fine getting every single digit of endgame builds of the times, be it 50+ on 6 mil or 100+ on iron later. The difference is knowing your ping and time button presses accordingly, you can't allow "mashing" either so only precise clicks at right times or you'll end up locked in heavies, missing LA's etc. because of how data packages are delivered to the server side. You should definitely try slower at first and progress to usual speeds, it seems helped a lot of folks to deal with high ping.

Most of the EU players have a similar ping on the PTS (I have around 230 ping on PTS). And even with the ping, we are able to reach 120k+ DPS (my highest parse on PTS was around 126k), but only if the connection is stable and the ping doesn't fluctuate. If the ping starts to sail a lot, the skills and actions starts acting weird.

EDIT: just went to check the parsing channel of an oceanic guild. An Australian mate got 120k DPS with 270 ping.

I know AU, NZ, and Asia players on the NA server who parse over 100k so it's definitely possible. It always has been.

I can't speak for 300ms, but I'm on the 250ms mark and it's definitely possible on the dummy. In trials it's even worse because you get other confounding performances issues, and my biggest gripe is failed weapon swap (whereby you think you've swapped, hit the skill you want, but you're still on the previous bar and thus hit the wrong skill), which does happen often. It is what it is, you just need to weave a bit slower for things to register, but it's definitely doable to push decent damage.

What about when my ping is between about 390 and 420ms ? What dps is achievable for me, realistically ?
    PC(Steam) / EU / play from Melbourne, Australia / avg ping 390

Being in Melbourne on ps5, I can confirm getting over 100k dps is very doable. Im averaging 112-15k dps with half meta purple gear but with gold weapons and gold jewerly on a NB. So getting 120k is possible if all meta with a flawless-near flawless rotation. But it still won’t be easy compared to EU or NA players.

As mentioned above for EU players with 200+ ping still getting over 120k+, remember they literally still have a server for EU. Distance to server isn’t as far.
Being in AUS we don’t have that luxury so you can imagine the distance information needs to travel.

I have recently done testing with a friend from US, he is able to perform 7 bow procs within the 40second of merciless resolve buff weaving in perfect LA with concealed weapon back to back, while i can only max 6 with 1 stack before the buff runs out.

That’s literally 5 Light attacks + 5 Concealed Weapon less PER 40 second buff which adds up on any dps parsing. So you can imagine how much of a disadvantage we have it here.

I’ve also tried on PC eso and even though people say the servers are better, I can confirm we still get 250+ ping ( /latency ) AND still at a huge disadvantage. Dps range still the same for console vs pc for any players outside of EU, Canada, America-Latin America. The package just takes too long to travel to either US or EU server from any other country.
