I always thought named weapons and gear should have very slightly better attributes than it's "generic" version of the same thing, then rebuilding the named weapon would really make sense as a feature.

Whenever there is a named version of a set piece, I gravitate towards it, right now I have a Templar build running a Gallant Chain, Lion’s Tooth Pendant, and Ancient Ring.
Having the ability to recreate these items would be amazing, my bank is cluttered with them.

Same, it would be nice if they were unique. Something akin to the arena weapons, maybe not as powerful but something that makes it stand out on it's own other than just another standard set piece.
Agree with OP too, being able to reconstruct them would be a nice QoL bit.
Would also be super cool if we could name our own gear\weaps. Fallout76 comes to mind, it sounds like a small thing but I LOVE that we can do that. Give a weapon a personal name, change the names of armour pieces so they can SORT better, etc.
"Some enjoy bringing grief to others. They remind M'aiq of mudcrabs - horrible creatures, with no redeeming qualities."
"When my time comes, I will smile. And that will be all." -Sir Nathain Galien
Again on the topic of special names weapons, I would love for the redundancy of having set names wedged into them, removed.
Wyrd Branch of the Wyrd Tree? Lion Guard Sabatons of the Wyrd Tree? Mother Murk’s Corrupted Sprig of the Wyrd Tree?
Also, one way they could make these unique, would be to work with their enchantments. Having single enchantments divided into unique bi-stat glyphs, like having a weapon do 1,250 Frost and 1,250 Shock damage instead of 2,000 of either.
Its a bit of a conundrum, though. As it stands, the named pieces have no real identity anyway. It'll be some piece named after the bearer who drops it.
But its also Syrabane's?
And its an axe? Why did Syrabane have an axe?
And if Syrabane was the eponymous Warlock, why is there also an Axe of the *Warlock*?
And then you just put a costume over it anyway.
I dunno. They system started out good, but its been distorted along the way and right now really doesn't have much in the soul department. The idea and appeal behind unique/named weapons kinda got eclipsed and must have been considered pretty much expendable.

I enjoy the named weapons with their flavor text, as well. I sometimes keep and transmute if it’s a set I’m using and others I keep regardless. I will always keep Brackenleaf’s Bow.
If named weapons were even marginally better everyone wanting to be "competitive" with their DPS or in PVP would need to farm it, so I would prefer they do something else besides make them have better stats as that sounds really tedious.
