does anyone know if this set also affects yourself? usually they'll say "if you heal yourself or an ally" this only says ally so i am curious if the user also gets the effect or not

To my understanding it does not.

the item description specifically states "when you heal an ally"

if it was to include yourself it would say something similar to "when you heal yourself or an ally"

theres a lot of these sets that only affect allies (pillager from dreadsail is another that does not affect self for example)

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

I have no idea. If you want a sustain set for you too, you can use DSA restro. Class mag/stam recovery buff (like mushrooms, refreshing path, etc.) also will target you.
