Let us place furnishings without having to craft them (assuming we have the plans/mats)

You want to place a table and some chairs. You've got the furnishing plans. You've got the materials. Now you have to run to the crafting station(s), craft those items, and run back. Now do this x100 to decorate the rest of your house.

Example:
  1. Come up with idea for decorating house (3 mins)
  2. Run to crafting station(s), craft items, and run back (5 mins)
  3. Place items (2 mins)
Percentage of time lost due to crafting: 50%

This is why the majority of furnishings in The Sims can be placed directly from the Editor without having to craft them.

It would be a huge quality of life improvement for ESO players.

time spent crafting is far less if you had the crafting tables in the house you were decorating lol, though the hard part is finding them in the massive list or the right craft station

i think that could be a problem if you could see everything you could craft from the place item housing editor, it would significantly bloat up the list of stuff you could actually place (unless they added toggle options which can hide stuff you dont have the materials to craft, or just viewing items you can actually place without crafting)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

The basic, standard crafting tables are cheap, and one set is all you need. Just park them in a house that you are decorating, and craft away!

Make it a blueprint, a la Grounded. In this case, you can place down a blueprint of anything that you've learned. It would look like a ghost, see-through version of the item with a little quest marker on it. If you get close to it, it'll prompt you to make it. If you're within a certain distance to the crafting station, just holding the craft button on the ghostly object will craft and place it. If you have the object in your bank, inventory, or storage within the house you're in, it will instead place the object by taking it from that location, rather than crafting it.
Additionally, they could let you place blueprints of any item in the cash shop. The same thing applies as before, you can get close to the object and be prompted with a buy option, and holding the buy button will pull up the item in the cash shop with the purchase button. If you click the purchase button, it's automatically placed in your house.

This would allow you to preview items before crafting or buying them. This could even expand to items you don't have the blueprints for, which will remain ghostly and un-makeable until you have the blueprint. But that would add a lot of options to housing that I don't think Zos wants to put work into.
