Some items cant be stored in bank(why?), many items cant be sell to merchant, what mean that red circle?
I can understand, that some items is really important, but why "Knighthood ichor" is locked in my inventory?
Gloomsphore agratic as well, I have many of them occupying may bag space. I forgot about Blood knight BRAIN, what is that so important to keep it protected all at times?
Plenty of scrolls, which I don't need right now.
Maybe you can considerate extra bank space/folder for items like that?

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a similar issue with the bag space problem.

I was trying to put items from daily log in rewards into the bank, but, then I get an error that "this item can't be placed in the bank". I'm always trying to free up space in my inventory so I have room to loot many treasures from monsters in dungeons. I don't want to destroy useful stuff or sell it.

Also is the bank account wide so I can access it across all my characters or is it character only?

Items that cant be stored in the bank are usually Character Bound, useable only on that character. Items that cant be sold are either event, quest, or daily login/crown store related items.

Bloodknight Ichor, brain and agaric can be safely discarded. They can be used to unlock hidden buffs in Stone Garden. You can pick them up any time you are in that dungeon and are in always the same place.

Bank is account wide. There are bag merchants in game that increase you bag space for gold. You can get extra bag space by training your horse. And ESO+ doubles your bank space and gives access to the craft bag. Also, the crafting writ guy has containers on offer for your house.

And yes, I got it all maxed and still run out of space from time to time.

If you have a red icon next to the item, it's marked as Stolen and can only be laundered or fenced at an Outlaw's Hideout or at the Thieves Guild hideout.

In the sell menu there is a red circle next to items you can’t sell to merchants that aren’t stolen. That is not the same as the stolen icon.

If it can't be banked or sold and has no apparent purpose, I destroy it.

Ah, yes, the bloodknight brain. I just find it funny I can carry around and link in chat a mutant's gray matter. So tasty...

Oh yeah, I actually wanted to add something useful. Some items require confirmation before they can be destroyed and it can become annoying to have to type CONFIRM several times. Just right-click on them, select "mark as junk" and on the junk tab of your inventory, select the option to destroy everything in there.

Each Chapter and DLC more traits and materials are released but the bank space has not Increased in years. It's time to increase the standard bank to give non ESO accounts more space.

    • stolen items cannot be banked until laundered
    • stolen items cannot be sold to normal merchants (has to be to a fence)
    • treasure maps cannot be sold to merchants (along with a few other items on the misc tab)
    • character bound items cannot be stored in the bank/housing storage
    • container items usually cannot be put into bank or storage (there are a few exceptions now after they fixed runeboxes) (this category is usually boxes that contain other items, such as transmute geodes, gunny sacks, etc)

They really need to allow more bag space, period. If players are constantly having to shuffle and reorganize to try and save space, it's indicative of a wider problem. I know I'm always trying to free up space on my main.

I've been complaining about inventory space since 2017. It's strange I started taking skills I learned living in lower middle class and applying it so that inventory space or new chapters is never a problem.

Use sets that can be crafted, easily obtained from an free dungeon or easily obtained for cheap.

Throw away most items except for ones used to craft up the armor/weapon tier (purple, gold, etc.) and never NEVER gold your armors. (Hoarding is done because people think there is value in something. They hold it just in case they'll ever need it. This is a bad way to live. As when a natural disaster comes in all that stuff goes to zero. Trust me it's happened to me countless times I don't on much now. No need to buy the new flashy thing if it will be destroyed within 5 years. Similar to when ZoS makes old sets worthless and brings in brand new ones that dwarf what the previous ones did.)

Make money only when I need to get something. If the FOMO time passes and the gold cannot be made in the allotted time the item is available, save the gold. (buy only what you need. One can buy in excess essentials like natural foods and water. Everything else is worthless. Like I said, all it takes is a natural disaster and you go back to zero again. All that time burining the hours of your life just to see it tuned to trash in moments. Living limber and lean allows for great movement and flexibility. )

Don't make too much friends as they'll want to bring you to every place and that means being obligated to spend time and money with them to the various places. (new dungeons) This is part of the limber and lean thing. Those few friends one will make should understand your point of view and know when to call on you and not to. Going to a birthday party, ok. Going to the club or disney land NO.

Never strive to be anything great or follow your initial dreams. Only few from the group I was born in ever do. The rest have to realize the truth. The cards are always stacked against them. There's only few ways to win most of which I refuse to do. The others have low probability of success. (This allows me to never be angry or mad when I lose because I know my opponent has an advantage over me. Equaity simply doesn't exist otherwise why compete? I realized this in college. STEM student with a father from retail vs STEM student with farther from Electrical Engineering. There's a reason why one was touring MIT in their junior year and the other was working night shift to pay for college.

Be happy with what one has. Yes my initial dreams were buried ages ago, I was able to create a new dream that I am proud of. One thing I know about life is that things can change in a moment. So why can't dreams? I don't have to be great. I just have to be me. If it's not enough for them, then I move on. Nobody can decide ones worth. The truth is, nothing is more important than time. All these people, I see the potential in all of them. I realize how to solve the problem. I just didn't solve the other problem...The human... The human won't allow it. So I'll just go with the flow...I know how this all goes down...literally lol.

I realized that I am the electrical engineer....and my child or grandchild will be the one who has the choice to follow their primary dreams. My dream is unobtainable until we create beings that aren't human. The problem is I'll be dead by then.

You are wondering what all of this has to do with inventory space right?

Well I play a game to forget all of that, but ZoS with their wisdom allows me to remember it every time I log in and have to sit there for 2 hours cleaning my mail and inventory out. I then have to realize those are the rules ZoS world works with. They won't change them...not any time soon. So I now am playing only the story of ESO. I quit PVP and PVE dungeons. I started this year with morrowind. I will take my time by only logging 3 hours per week. I am in no rush anymore. No time contraint.

I used to hoard but now I always use the stuff that is character bound, but I'm left with stuff from quests like that old helm. And wrothgar museum items. I started to delete the things I don't need. Creating a guild and getting lots of people to join can open a guild bank where you can share things.

Most things from the daily rewards will come again in the next year or two. Over time you can delete them and you might get them again in future daily rewards eventually.
