I have started to get a black screen when I quit the game.
I have waited a few minutes (?) but it won't go away, have to kill eso using the task master.
Its not a rage quit feature but could be annoying sometimes :)

I had that too on my old computer, not everytime, but often enough, on my new current computer the problem has never happened (yet)

Well it's nothing wrong with my computer, it's not that old :)
Plenty of resources to use for eso.
the black screen started to happen a few weeks ago but does not happen every time I quit.
Could be an eso update that did something, could be an windows update.. or an add-on..

This same thing is happening to me. The screen goes black but I can still see the menu on the left for Settings, etc.. After a minute I get the message that I can wait for the program to respond or shut it down, which is what I choose, and it then reports the problem to Microsoft. Most of the time that does it but sometimes it doesn't and I need to use the task manager to close it.

This stopped for awhile but now it's back, and it doesn't do it every time but it does most of the time.

My computer is only about 2 years old and has no problems running ESO.

@ZOS_Kevin Are they aware of this issue?

As posted here, this is a known issue with Windows 7, related to necessary security settings in ESO. As a result of maintaining these security setting to protect players, this issue will continue to persist with ESO on Windows 7 for the foreseeable future. We understand the Explorer.exe issue is frustrating for ESO Players on Windows 7. However, it is paramount that we keep these security settings enabled in order to ensure a safe experience for all ESO players.
