NPCs ignore our companions

I thought today that it would be nice if the NPCs you hold dialogues with could somehow acknowledge our companions, either directly (i.e. speaking to them by name) or indirectly (i.e. referring to "the pair of you", "you and your companion", etc. It would make the game's immersion a tiny bit better.

Most of the game was created before companions existed.

As eso currently have not much dialogue choices altogether I'd be more pleased to see those expanded before giving alternative lines for having a combat pet out.

This, and to close the gap I've noticed that they added in triggers for our companions to say something about what we've done or whom we are speaking to (specifically for the alliance leaders).

i couldn't imagine the amount of lines of voice acting that would need to be recorded for npc to acknowledge your companions

NPCs don't need to acknowledge our companions imo. They're talking to us abd that is enough.

WoW players spending time in their Garrison watching their followers interacting with each other. You see them acknowledging other followers, waving hello, having conversations, or two big ones do the "sizing up" the competition. These little nuance interactions made it feel more alive than them hanging around doing nothing. You could that in your home, but it would be nice if each houseguest had some preset setups to do such things.

While that would be nice, I would prefer more dialogue lines for the companions themselves - especially the Blackwood ones, whose dialogue can get awkward or overly repetitive at times.

Good. Don't need a companion striking up a conversation with an NPC. Nor do I want one alerting the guards or NPCs while I am stealing

I’m okay with NPCs ignoring our companions; I’m overjoyed when they properly recognize my character and where appropriate, their race, class, vampirism or not, or what they’ve done.

As others have mentioned, I would enjoy more dialogue options with our companions and more variety and fine-tuning of when their comments queue.

I do enjoy when a companion’s dialogue happens to align with what we’re doing or another character’s dialogue, as when I was playing through the main questline of Southern Elsweyr and Aeliah commented on something having been successfully completed and Mirri seemed to reply, “Do you want to brag about that or shall I?”

You'll end up with NPCs trying to chat up Ember and ignoring you completely...

"Hey! I need to finish this quest!"

"Take a hike, pal. Can't you see I'm talking to the lady?"
