Mark Hammil is definitely up there for me, I do have a few others that come to mind (plus a role for those that don't know them by name)

Mark Meer- male Commander Shepard, mass effect
    Brandon Keener- garrus, mass effect
David Hayter- Solid Snake, metal gear series

David Hayter is already a part of an MMO in SWTOR, I doubt he will accept another.

Stephen Fry, we already have John Cleese as Cadwell and the combo worked well in Fable 3.

    No one known / celebrity.

Whatever your politics, reality is a known celebrity will bring their baggage with them. Half the population will love it, other half won’t. This formula works for whichever side of the divide you like / dislike in the known celebrity.

So no thanks, no celebrity / known VAs for ESO. Give an unknown a break, probably be at least as good if not better voice talent, and marketing 101 - attract the largest demographic you can. Assuming the goal is to entertain and monetize the largest share possible.

If the goal is to push [insert your brand of politics here], then by all means keep recruiting major names that long ago forgot Michael Jordan’s quote when asked why he doesn’t inject political speech into his basketball comments - ‘they buy shoes too’

I like some of the older VAs but honestly i prefer they have newer upcoming VAs. Verandis being the biggest example of this that i know of.

Cardi B or someone else equally unexpected and obviously a stunt cast, just for the chaos. Who knows she might make a great bard or something.

For a more serious suggestion, Keith David.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

edit: looks like I'm not the only one to recognize his talent, he is the VA for many DOTA 2 characters as well as some antagonists for DC and Marvel comics. He's not overused like many anime VAs but his voice fits for ESO. My recommendation came from his film work and remembering how he sounds there.

I'd rather ZOS does not use famous people for this game at all, because of two main reasons: It costs more money, and they are harder to get a hold of for future content. Meaning they would generally only be an expensive one-off. I'd rather they choose someone who will be available for future content as well, so they can actually build/expand the character.

Would love an entire storyline based on the mystery of who is cadwell, as I love his voice acting. He is a knight, got split in half, has regular contacts with higher beings like meridia, and wanders/portals around coldharbour without breaking a sweat or being bothered by molag bal. Who is he? Where is he from? How did he get like this? What is he? ... I would love to know!

PS: Haven't heard of almost all of those names.

Robert Clotworthy. Great voice actor, played Jim Raynor in Starcraft and Albatross on Alpha Protocol, among other roles. I think he'd be a good fit for a smart Altmer or Breton character. It's a pity that Leonard Nimoy is no longer with us, he did some voiceovers in his time and was quite good at it. Famous film actors can be hit or miss, for example I think that Peter Stormare is a brilliant screen actor, but his performance in ESO stands out as one of the worst. Judging by the base game's voice cast, TV actors do a better job and likely don't charge as much.

No one who's voice is recognisable. It destroys immersion by introducing all sorts of out-of-game connections to play.

Cleese was the worst example. I have disliked his work since the 1960's, and his voice was instantly recognisable. To me, Cadwell will always be that unfunny ***.

I'll never forget the moment when Martin Septim opened his mouth in "TESVI-Oblivion" for the first time and I was like: I KNOW you! :o
So for me that would definitely be Sean Bean.

And also Steve Valentine. I really liked his voice acting as Alistair in "DragonAge Origins "(and also his performance as Nigel in "Crossing Jordan").

Well, and for the German voice acting my choice would be Till Hagen. He also does the German voice acting for e.g. Kevin Spacey and I really like his voice. It also "appears" in "Enderal" - which really took me by surprise and made the scene with the character he was lending his voice to even more intense.

For me, voice acting is very important in a game or movie. If the voice doesn't fit, it can destroy the whole picture of the character.

A bit of private gossip: before meeting my husband in RL, we spoke on the phone - and I immediately fell in love with his voice. :D

Jennifer Hale voices female sylvari player characters in Guild Wars 2, as well as Queen Jennah and a few other NPCs and she's also the voice of Lyris Titanborn in ESO and a couple of characters in SWTOR. She's probably in other MMOs as well.

So I don't think they're mutually exclusive, even if it's an on-going role where they'll have to keep coming back to do dialogue for new releases.

I'm kind of the opposite, I like it when I don't realise who the actor is because they sound either so different from other stuff they've been in or so exactly right for the character (or both) that I don't even think about the person behind it, that's just the characters voice. I find it distracting when I do recognise them.

I'm very happy with awesome VAs we already have in the game, and don't mind them being "re-used". On the contrary, I like when they return.

So for me it would be "VAs we already have/had in game"

But James Earl Jones for a chapter's main villain, OR the most epic companion ever.
