the difficulty of fading novelty

this is prolly just gonna sound a lot like im just complaining and venting and that might be the case but i feel the need to get this off my chest anyways.

i think we can all agree that world bosses are designed to be tough, especially those in dlc zones. stuff like having a lot of hp or more complicated mechs which are meant for higher tiered players and to get people thinking. some world bosses practically require a group to complete such as Dubdil Alar in Vvardenfell or the Echoing Hollow in Murkmire. what happens to such bosses when the next dlc comes out, or the dlc after that?

im sure bosses like B'Korgen were easier in their heyday and during events bc its easier to find a group more willing to take on notoriously difficult bosses for the novelty (when its a new dlc) or for the rewards (when its an event). but what about people who either just wanna complete them, or get the basic year-round rewards such as the craft mats, or wanna work on the standard "complete 30 world boss dailies" achievements? when it comes to notorious bosses in older dlc zones ive either resorted to spending an hour tinking away at a boss with 4.6 mil hp or just deleting the quest and coming back another day in hopes that i might be able to get literally any other quest than the one i gave up on. if i do spend that hour soloing a notoriously difficult world boss then i dont feel like im being fairly rewarded when i only get 362 gold when i hand in the quest, in fact i feel like ive wasted my time and i couldve spent that hour doing literally anything else asides from "playing" eso. i use the term playing very loosely bc spending an hour tinking away at a single boss for a measly 362 gold is not fun

i dont like being one of those people who just complains without offering any sorta solution or anything so heres my idea! its basically like battleground weekends but for dailies such as delves and world bosses in older zones. one dlc zone in particular (lets say Murkmire as an example) essentially gets highlighted for a weekend. the repeatable quests in that zone such as delves and bosses will give players better rewards in terms of gold and the contents of the tribal crates youd typically earn. i dont think it NEEDS to be a full on event with tickets and new style pages every time such a weekend comes on but it does need to give more for rewards. this shoud draw more players to an emptier and forgotten zone like Murkmire, at least for a short time, and lessens the need to uselessly tink away at a boss like Walks-Like-Thunder for some of that sweet hackwing plumage.

i like your idea for mini events for old dlc. i and many others respond to zone chat requests for help with world bosses every day, try that. there is also an looking for group feature being released later this year, hopefully that will accommodate these sorts of activities.

first of all, thank you for your service o7
secondly, amazing people like you arent online in every zone 24/7. imo i think a mini event would drive traffic from people who are awake at all hours that way so perhaps night owls like myself and people in different time zones are able to complete these sorts of quests

I think its cool that some bosses are tougher. Like the triplets in Clockwork, I go there occasionally just for a challenge.

As I said here the other day Walks in Thunder needs an easier visual telegraph when his healing totems pop out and a short delay before they start healing him. So people can actually read and react to the mechanic. As it is you miss one totem and hes got half his health back in the blink of an eye.

And I like the idea of the simple weekend events.

I like the idea of “zone of the week” or something too. Better drops, gets some people out of their routines.

When I am in Vvardenfell, before I leave, I often ask in zone chat if anyone needs help with a WB because help is sometimes hard to find there.

But then--and I don't like to brag about this--I am the "Savior of Morrowind", so I think of it as a duty! lol

I can foresee two problems with that.

First, the WBs in the Zone of the Week would be trivial due to the numbers camping them.

Second, people would complain that no-one was around to help them with WBs in the rest of the game.

If the problem is that not enough players are around in every zone to help with the WBs, then having events that focus everyone's attention on the WBs in just one zone surely can't be the solution. Asking in zone and/or guild chat might be a better way, although as a non-guild solo player on PC NA and EU I've generally found that I don't have to wait around for assistance with WBs very much, especially if I ignore the WB endeavours and aim to deal mainly with each WB when I'm in the area and other players are around rather than going to a WB with the sole intention of hanging around until I've dealt with it.

I think you'll find that I am Saviour of Morrowind, and it hurt so bad having to save the false god Vivec that I rarely go back.
