Question about Refresh (Ansei deck)

How do I move specific cards if choosing multiple up to the front?

Say I have 2 Draw and one Refresh in my hand, I can move two cards with the refresh card. I want to move one other Ansei card up, but of course place one of the Draw cards in the Draw pile* so that it draws first, how do I do this? Every time I've tried this, it fails, and then of course enough time goes by for me to forget entirely how I did it the last time, is there a specific order I should click them?

Edit: Wrong word replaced with correct word to avoid confusion

If I understand you correctly I think you are talking aboutimeediately refreshing cards currently in your hand. This is not possible because while it's your turn you technically have 2 cool down piles. One is where cards from previous hands as well as cards you have recently purchased go, this one is lowest on the screen. The other cooldown pile is just above this and this is where you place cards from your current hand.
This means that if you have a refresh card in your current hand, you cannot use it to refresh other cards currently in your hand. You can only use it to refresh cards in your other cooldown pile i.e. to refresh cards from your previous hand, or cards you purchase in this turn.

    Does that make sense?

No, you didn't understand the question. I want to refresh two cards form the cooldown pile, and make the Draw card appear in front of the Ansei card, so that in my current hand I can combo the current hand's Duke cards to the Refreshed Duke card, and then draw the Ansei card that I placed behind it. I've seen this happen but I haven't figured out how to do it. I want to know how people manage that.

Also I realised the question was poorly phrased. Hope my clarification helped.

The problem with refreshing cards in a specific order is that the game doesn't allow you to do it. But the game does refresh cards in a deterministic way, so you can know the order that cards will be placed in on the top of your deck when you are choosing your targets.

The cooldown pile, depending on the number of cards in it, appears as a line or a grid.

    A B C D E

    or

    A B C D E
    F G H I J
    K L M N O

It is the case that the cards that are further left and further up in the cooldown display window will become the cards that are furthest on top of your deck after the refresh effect completes.

So you can never choose card E to be above card A, but you will know that card A will always be put on top of the deck with card E under it.

Similarly, let's say that you are playing crow. Let's say that card A is Scratch, card O is Scratch, and card G is Toll of Silver. Because you have multiple redundant options in this case, if you choose card G and Card O, then the top of your deck will be Toll of Silver and then Scratch. So you could draw Toll of Silver and then immediately use it to draw scratch. If instead you Choose card A and Card O for refresh, then the top of your deck will be Scratch and then Toll of Silver. So if you draw the next card, then you will only draw a Scratch, possibly ending your combo potential, but then you will still draw Toll of Silver as part of your next hand.

I think this explaination is much better than mine.

It's worth mentioning that as per next major patch, Refresh will place cards onto your deck in the order you select them.

    From PTS 8.3.0 patch notes:
    • When using the Refresh ability, cards will now be placed on top of your play deck in the order selected, so the last selected card will be on top.

    Fantastic. Much more intuitive.

Don't worry about it, that was my own fault making it confusing by typing out the wrong word in the middle of a sentence.
