Do you want graphical updates?

Poll is anonymous. Vote honestly.

Imagine bugs, pvp, and balancing are worked on by a completely separate dev group apart from devs that work on the graphics/looks of the game. (Which is probably true, but I know there would be comments of “I’d rather they fixed bugs first” etc.)

Do you want graphical updates?
Perhaps things like, better looking feet. Or armor that doesn’t appear to be painted on skin.

No. (Maybe explain why?)

Don’t care. I’d play even if the game looked like it was a Sega Genesis game.

I’d rather they just officially announced an ESO2. (That’s bound to have better visuals… right?)

I don't really care - because I find the graphics are fine; and while yes, I'm sure the team for graphics is not the same as the dev team etc, I'd really rather have more time and money going to new content than updating graphics I don't have issues with. Also.... we've already seen the unhappiness over animation updates. I'm not willing to believe graphics updates would be better....

I remember the character graphical updates in WoW - and my characters were AWFUL, not at all what I wanted to play. That was the final nail in the coffin for me, and WoW remains in its grave for me to this day.

Yes but, I don't really want new animations to existing skills. I still can't stand the templar updates to "Puncturing Sweep".

Now I'm stuck just stirring soup when use have an awesome light spear.

It doesn't matter to me and given the complaints whenever something has been changed I think it's a mistake to assume newer graphics will be considered better by a majority of players.

Yes, there is a lot of the areas of the game that need from Characters to basic aspects of the game that stick out really bad due to having very poor graphics i do believe the game needs a lot of this you can get good graphics without requiring a bunch of new GPUs or CPUs if done correctly many games have done this.

    Not really.

Base game environments and outfits maybe look a bit "outdated" compared to the newest content, but it doesn't bother me that much.

I wouldn't like any other changes, because I think stuff looks fine, and it those improvements meant more "realistic" people, for example, I'd hate my characters suddenly changing faces, or mer started looking like humans with slightly pointed ears.
Glory to you and your Dunmer House!

Issue is that was done poorly not because it was asked for but because the company itself did it very poorly and rushed it. If their time was taken, and they actually focus on it and actually tested it and asked the community then it be fine. Look at STO for example of an Old Game that still has great graphics on their ships and backgrounds without demanding new GPUs or CPUs, yet that game is all old as this game is.
From what i have seen from this game seems that stuff is pushed out well before they are actually ready to be released just to meet a date on a calendar, i know if they came out and said hey sorry guys we can't meet the dead line and this is the reason and it was an actual reason and not some excuse I wouldn't mind so long as when it is released i can tell time was taken on it and done right the first time.

I like the visuals, except the bushes don't have shadows until I walk right up to them. I don't know why as I have everything at the highest settings I could find.

Does anyone else have bushes shadows just appear as you get close to them?

I don't really care, the graphics have improved slowly over time and it seems to me a large part of the player base doesn't even run the game on high graphic settings. I'd say the vast majority of youtube content I've seen certainly isn't showing what the game textures are capable of.

Honestly, I'd question how many players that want a graphics update are even seeing what the current graphics are capable of.

Yes but the update has to be better than what we already have and it should come second in priority to increasing the crown store quality. We shouldn’t be paying money for buggy FX.

Each to her own. I played WoW exclusively from January 2006 until May 2013. I've never been back.

I believe I've read those are disallowed in the TOS.

Playing on decent settings on a couple of middle-of-the-range desktop PCs without any addons or other third party shaders etc I see nothing wrong with the graphics, they're fine.

The draw distance in the game is pretty bad. Always has been. That is why you run into a wall of fog at 100m in front of you in every zone in the game. The distant geometry and textures are so bad they need to be obscured by an 80% opaque fog.

The Daybreak mod on PC allows you to push the fog back much further and is a big improvement, but you still need some of it to shield your eyes from the horror of distant landscapes.

Given the age of the game and the fact that most peoples rigs have improved over the last decade, I think improving draw distances would be an easy upgrade for the devs in the form of altering the game sliders relative effect. Keep lowest settings where they are but change the highest settings to be more advanced.

    yes, kind of.

I made a thread about something similar a while back where I suggested that ZOS should go back to older zones and use some of the assets they created in the newer ones to spice things up. For example, maybe taking a few NPC's in Auridon and put them in some Summerset chapter outfits or redo the furniture in the shops and houses of Mournhold with some of the upcoming ones from Necrom, that sort of thing.

I wouldnt shirk from a complete graphical update for the OG vanilla zones but my proposal is alot more cost effective since it uses currently in game material and therefore takes less time to implement

While I might like some minor changes I am generally happy with how ESO looks and how it runs.

Changing how it looks could cause the performance to take a hit.which could easily be more of a harm than the changes are a benefit.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of graphical advancement. When I've upgraded my hardware or played a game that did a noticeably better with the graphics I've found that while I do enjoy it for the first few weeks after those weeks are up it's back to normal levels of enjoyment and the content I play that doesn't measure up to my new graphical expectations are less enjoyable.

The game looks great as is on PC, and I shudder to think of the game performance hit with a heavier graphical package in 12 man trials with lots of things going on. I'd rather ZoS take the time and optimize the code base before ever thinking of graphical upgrades.

DLSS and DLAA are enabled in ESO as long as you have the available GPU that supports it. It does make things look somewhat better, at least up close and not as a giant zerg ball of people running towards your face.

I'd mainly like the base game zones to get a make-over and be more comparable to dlc zones. Better textures on some things, setting to set the fog distance, as well as updating the character models. At least better textures and polygons. The feet are horrible and there's sharp edges on curves and other places it shouldn't be.

Personaly i enjoy the games graphics but I also think that an overall graphic overhaul would be a breath of new life to ESO. It would probaly help draw some new players in by making it abit more on par with todays standards. The fact that the devs have been able to persuade the money men in control of ESO to dedicate a quarter of this year to Qol work instead of quick profit making content is actualy great when you think about it and i think it is a good sign. I hope that they will do something simmilar with a focus on graphics in the future.

I love the graphics we have currently but there are always improvements that can be made. I wouldn't want improvements to the graphics to overshadow other additions to the game as there needs to be a balance and it's not really an urgent matter. I can see many improvements this way have already been added along the way.

I find the graphic ok. They're not perfect but I don't know any MMORPG with perfect graphics.

For me priorities for changes are elsewhere.
