Need Transmutation Recovery

This is just my opinion, but I think that after recreating sets with transmute you can undo it and get all your materials back if it is done within a specific period of time. With so many sets set up in so many varieties it's easy to get them mixed up. I was recreating Toothrow and Medusa sets to use together. However, I forgot that Medusa armor was heavy, not medium, and wasted my gold plating on Toothrow jewels. This isn't the first time I've wasted materials because I got sets mixed up.

We can always test on the PTS or with the base level with recreation (no further upgrade).

It also helps to look into what you are going to recreate to ensure it has a set bonus and especially is an armor weight you are interested in. That is easy to do.

Since there's no difference between upgrading or using Reconstruct with mats, you can generally upgrade up to Epic first to test out your builds until you're confident that it works then upgrade with gold after the fact.

I admit I didn't think of that. But I did make some sets that I already had on other characters and that were in my storage chests. Items stored in those wont show up as in bank or inventory when you recreate them.

It’s the same as when you craft and upgrade armor… only to realize you made it CP150 :confounded:

For better or worse, Material Sinks are necessary for the economy. We have the PTS and several resources online to theory craft builds.

I wouldnt be totally opposed to a very short timer (couple of minutes) where you could decon something you made by accident and get your Materials back, we have all done it, but not sure you should be able to be able to use that feature for testing.

I also wouldnt be opposed to getting a few more gold mats back on items you personally crafted/upgraded when you decon them.

Nor would I be opposed to being able to transmute something you personally crafted/reconstructed for say 25 crystals instead of 50. That has always felt s little steep to me.

    I said opposed a lot...

This is especially important for jewelry because Chromium Plating is 500k gold each now on PC NA. We will likely see 1 million gold Chromium Plating within the next 12 months. Epic quality jewelry, test and verify, then upgrade to Gold quality.
